You’ve applied the UniGrip. Congrats!

Now we’re going to share some practical tips to make sure you get the wear time you need!

TIPS TO MAKE YOUR UNIGRIP LAST!

When cleaning the patient, leave a one inch space around the hydrocolloid. Avoid contact with bath in a bag products, lotions or creams.

When cleaning the patient, leave a one inch

space around the hydrocolloid. Contact with

cleansing wipes, bath in a bag products, lotions

or creams will result in early dislodgement of the

securement device.

Make sure to wipe the entire application site with BioPlus+ and allow it to dry completely.

SAMPLE EVALUATION FORMS

This form can be changed to meet your needs

if you have other targets to measure.

Page 14: Train the Trainer Program: UniGrip Catheter Securement

QUESTION #1

• How can I prevent the straps from sticking up?

• Feed the long strap through the second hole in the hole strap to make it lay down

• Cut off excess •

QUESTION #2

• Why does the hydrocolloid get wrinkled when worn?

• The hydrocolloid conforms to the skin like a second skin. It is supposed to wrinkle and stretch with

the skin.

• Wrinkles show the device is working properly and providing a comfortable wear experience for the

patient. Wrinkles fade within minutes of removal.

QUESTION #3

• Don’t you have to warm hydrocolloid to make it stick?

• Not our formulation. CathGrip’s initial tack on dry skin is sufficient to eliminate special warming

techniques.

• The patient’s skin will warm the adhesive and increase the hold over the first few hours.
