A man opens his eyes under an eerie blue light, that’s looking like our hero, the paraplegic Marine Jake Sully (also known as Sam Worthington) — before the shot fades to black. This gives us the idea straight away that he’s going to be our protagonist. The close up shot portrays a powerful image and maybe a story behind him.

• We can tell this is a teaser trailer because first of all it doesn’t give away a specific date on which it will be released. It just gives a brief idea on what month it will be out.

Overall

• Overall I think the teaser trailer is good because it doesn’t give a lot away. It doesn’t give us the exact date if will be out so that’s one sing of it because a teaser trailer.

• The shots in the trailer and quick and snappy so we don’t get given too much information. It’s enough information to force the audience to try figure out what happens next which makes them want to go watch the film because they are curious.

• The teaser trailer included loads of L-Cuts, and especially black fades which is a key iconography of an trailer.
