Corporate Confession of Sin | Dr. Frank Wright Gracious and holy Father, we confess our willingness to be loved but also our reluctance to love. We confess our readiness to accept Your pardoning grace yet we are slow to forgive others. We confess our eagerness to receive Your redeeming love but we resist following You without question. In this Advent season, forgive us for our failure to respond as we ought. Come to us anew, and by Your grace, transform us to receive You with joy, as the shepherds; with gratitude, as Simeon; with obedience, as Mary; with love, as You have first loved us. Even so: Come, Lord Jesus. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

Anthem | Lisa B. Wilson, organ Hark! the Herald Angels Sing John L. Wilson, director arr. Stephen Nelson Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King! Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!" Joyful, all ye nations, rise; join the triumph of the skies; With the angelic host proclaim, "Christ is born in Bethlehem!" Come, Desire of nations, come, fix in us Thy Heavenly home; Bind the wounded, bond and free, fit our hearts to rest in Thee. In Thy word, we've heard Thy call, join the anthem, one and all. With angelic hosts proclaim "Christ is Born in Bethlehem!" Christ, by highest heaven adored, Christ, the everlasting Lord, Late in time behold Him come, Offspring of the virgin's womb. Veiled in flesh, our Lord is He.. Saviour through Eternity! Pleased as man with men to dwell Jesus, our Emmanuel. Hail! the heaven born Prince of Peace! Hail! the Son of righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, risen with feeling in His wings. Mild He lays His glory by, born that man no more may die, Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth! Hark the Herald Angels Sing! Glory to the New-Born King! Glory to the New-Born King! Christ Our King!

THE ADVENT WREATH CELEBRATIONPlease prepare your heart for worship and silence your mobile devices

Each Sunday during the Advent season we light a candle in our morning services and read the corresponding Scripture so that we may focus our attention on Jesus and glorify him. We use three purple candles representing Hope, Love and Peace, and a pink candle representing the Joy that is ours because of Christ’s coming into the world and into our hearts and lives. The white candle in the center of the wreath is lit on Christmas Eve and represents the birth of Jesus. This tradition, dating back to A.D. 600, reminds us that the center of the Church and the center of our Christmas celebration is Jesus.

Let every heart prepare Him room!
