Impressions of Japan (Vietnamese group)

Although we knew Japan only

through books and magazines,

we have seen the real Japan

and have experienced the

wonderful Japanese lifestyle by

participating in this programme.

In addition, we have got to

know the many virtues of the

Japanese people, including

their hospitality, cheerful

character, and enthusiasm.

These are what people throughout the world need to emulate. Japanese

people are particularly kind to us as their guests. With such kindness the

world could become peaceful and friendly as if it was one family. Through this

programme, countries throughout the world will develop ever closer ties and

stronger relationships.

I have learned many things through

this programme and I have an

increased awareness of a

well-disciplined life and punctuality.

The homestay experience was

particularly memorable for me. I have

many unforgettable memories

involving my host family, and I feel

they are my second family.

Impressions of Japan (Laotian Group)

I am very glad to have participated in

this programme. Everything was so

new to me, but exchanging traditional

cultures between Japan and the five

Mekong countries was a good

experience. I felt that a spirit of

solidarity had been generated among

these countries. I had a good time.

I am very happy to have participated in this excellent programme. Through

real-life experiences, I have got to know about Japan and Japanese culture,

which were unfamiliar to me. This was also a good opportunity for cultural

exchange among the five Mekong countries. I hope to visit Japan again in the

future to study. I also want to learn Japanese.

I have been deeply moved by coming to Japan, an advanced country. Japan

is very clean and Japanese people are very punctual. I have given my all in

performing our traditional arts in this cultural exchange among Japan and the

five Mekong countries.

I am very glad to have stayed

with a family in Sasayama City.

My host family was very kind and

I felt as if I was a family member.

I was also deeply impressed by

snow, which I had never seen

before. I would like to visit Japan

and Sasayama again, if possible.

I am very happy and glad to

stay is meaningful for me

because I have gained a

various aspects of Japanese

culture and daily life. In

addition, I was moved by

coming into contact with the

cultures of the five Mekong

countries.

First of all, I wish to express my

appreciation for the JENESYS

Programme. I have had an

unforgettable experience in just eight

days. I have come to know about

Japanese culture, the well-disciplined

attitude of Japanese people,

punctuality, and the Japanese work

Impressions of Japan (Cambodian group)

I am glad to have participated in

the JENESYS Progarmme in the

Japan-Mekong Exchange year. If

Japan and the five Mekong

countries cooperate in taking on

developments in various fields to

reduce poverty, peace will be

brought to Asian countries.

I am happy to have made friends

with many Japanese people and people from the five Mekong countries

through this programme. In addition, it was useful for me to visit to many

institutions for study. In particular the Peace Memorial Park in Okinawa deeply

impressed me.

Through participating in the exchange programme implemented by Nippon

Sport Science University, I came to know that Japanese people are friendly,

and I came to like Japan, Japanese people and Japanese university students.

In addition, I was profoundly

moved by viewing and listening

to Japanese dancing and drum

beating and wearing a kimono.

This is my first visit to Japan,

and I cannot express my

gratitude enough for the

valuable experience and warm

hospitality.

Impressions of Japan (Myanmarese group)

○ I feel Japan and the five Mekong countries have

become closer to each other than before. I am glad

to have come in direct contact with the culture of

each country and to have watched the performing

arts of each country with my own eyes. In addition,

I have actually seen how developed Japan is, and I

wish to learn from its good points, such as the

diligence, warmth, and punctuality of Japanese

people. I hope to visit Japan again.

○ This visit to Japan was my first visit to a foreign country, and introducing the culture of

my own country on stage was also a first experience. In addition, I was able to

experience directly the cultures of other countries for the first time. I had not been very

interested in Myanmarese

traditional music, and only

listened to current popular music.

I had not been aware of the need

to preserve our own culture. But

now, I understand the value of

our ethnic music and traditional

performing arts, and I am proud

of them.
