PIEROGIPIEROGI Pierogi are made of dough and filling.

Filling may be made of meat, mushrooms, potato & cheese or fruit (in summer). We often eat pierogi on Fridays because most people do not eat meat on that day.

GOŁĄBKIGOŁĄBKI

Gołąbki is a cabbage roll common in Polish cuisine made from soft boiled cabbage leaves wrapped around minced pork or beef, chopped onions, and rice or barley baked in a casserole dish. Usually served with a creamy tomato sauce.

Gołąbki means „pigeons", referring its shape.

BigosBigos

Bigos is known as a hunter's stew. Typical ingredients include white cabbage, sauerkraut, various cuts of meat and sausages and mushrooms. Bigos is usually served with mashed potatoes or bread. We often keep a pot of bigos for a week or more. It is a popular Christmas dish.
