Reporter: Continuing with our look at major developments in the 20th century, lets look at cars. In 1997, the car company Toyota designed the first hybrid car. It uses gas and electricity so it is better for the planet. Pollutions from cars that use gasoline is a big problem so car manufacturers began to develop cars that were better for the environment but no expensive. Toyotas hybrid car, the Prius, is very popular in Japan and North America. Toyota was the first company to develop a hybrid car but now many other car company offer hybrids, too.
