Toyota of Orlando Celebrates Back to the Future!

The day has arrived! October 21, 2015 marks the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown

visit the future! We’re not just Back to the Future, but today is the Future! It’s

also a really exciting day for Toyota! Today marks the official first day for the new

Toyota Mirai! To our thrill and excitement Toyota has partnered with Christopher

Lloyd and Michael J. Fox to campaign for the grand introduction of the Toyota

Mirai in California! This new ride is breaking ground everywhere and our Toyota

dealership in Orlando just can’t wait until we can experience it!

We know that the our Toyota cars don’t have the time traveling capabilities that

the DeLorean did but it has some pretty impressive technology that will get you

quite as excited. This fuel cell vehicle runs on hydrogen! We know it’s a bit mind

boggling, but not to worry! Our Orlando Toyota dealership has some inside facts

and break down of how it works, and we want to share it with you!

Do you know what it means when we say that the Toyota Mirai is a fuel cell

vehicle? It means that in order for the car to run it needs hydrogen and oxygen to

generate power!

First you’ll pump hydrogen into this efficient Toyota

Oxygen will be obtained once it comes in from the intake grilles in the front

of the car

Both are then combined in the fuel cell stack where they generate a

reaction and gives you power!

Once the energy is “burnt” the only thing left is water! The water or vapor

will then leave the car through the tailpipe.

Can you believe a car like this exists! Our Orlando Toyota green rides have proven

to be one of the best in its class! However, the Toyota Mirai is taking green to a

whole other level! It’s not only improving efficiency it’s also one of the most

environmentally friendly rides! The Orlando Toyota Mirai will offer an EPA rated

estimate of 312 mile range per charge! It’ll also generate up to 153 horsepower

and 247 lb-ft of torque.

Safety is one of Toyota’s top priorities! That’s why the Toyota Mirai went through

harsh testing to ensure the safety of drivers in this rad ride! Toyota was very

detailed in regards to the safety features, they include:

Designed the hydrogen tanks not to leak and contain it safe

Any part that is involved in the process of carrying the hydrogen is located

outside of the cabin to avoid built ups

If you’re ever in a collision there is an integrated sensor to stop the flow of

hydrogen and shuts the tank automatically

The hydrogen is then dispersed into the atmosphere safely!
