If the birthday child is a Woody fan, go with the "Woody's Round-up" theme and give the partywestern flair. Cowboy hats, a sheriff's badge for the birthday child, lassos, horses and more willbring back the Wild West.

If the birthday child is a Buzz fan, bring in a space theme, complete with stars, rockets and aliens.Make the guests members of Star Command by making them honorary Space Rangers.

Child's Play Games and Activities

What's a party without games and activities to keep guests busy and entertained? Here are someideas to liven up the party:

Pick up a few remote-controlled cars and challenge the party guests to a race. Set up cones or otherobstacles to add challenge for older players.

Walt Disney World created a "Sid's Make-a-Toy" activity in its theme park. Bring this concept homeby giving guests the option to make their own toys. This can be done by either getting miscellaneoustoy parts (check out tag sales and flea markets for a variety of inexpensive toys) and ways to attachthem together (glue, pipe cleaners, etc.) or by simply getting pictures of miscellaneous toy parts andprinting them out. Make several copies and let the kids put together the pieces as they want.

Pick up some extra Mr. (and Mrs.) Potato Head pieces and have kids design their own Potato Headcharacter. You can start with an actual Potato Head base, or have kids insert pieces into regularpotatoes.

Take a variety of toys and challenge kids to toss them into a toy box. Make it increasingly moredifficult by changing the size of the toy box or making the child stand farther away as the gameprogresses.

Play limbo with a slinky. Slide a pole through the slinky to give it support (or let it rc helicopterreviews beginner sag for a real challenge!). To make it even more "Toy Story" use a slinky doginstead of a basic slinky.

If the guests are primarily girls, have them dress up like Barbie. In Toy Story 3, Barbie and Ken havea fashion show. Let the guests dress up in different themed outfits, or in anything you can find, andput on a fashion show.

Money not an issue? Rent a claw machine and fill it with alien plush from the movie.

Party Food

To fill little bellies, order pizza from "Pizza Planet." The pizza can come from any pizza restaurant -just print out the logo from Toy Story's Pizza Planet and paste it to the pizza boxes for flair. You canfind a logo online.

Partner with a local bakery or ice cream parlor to have a Toy Story logo printed on top of the child'sbirthday cake. Or have plastic characters from the movies (properly cleaned for sanitary reasons)placed on top of a cake or cupcakes.

Prizes and Party Favors

The great part about a toy-themed birthday party is that game prizes and party favors can consist ofjust about any type of toy. Even "old-fashioned" toys like bouncy balls, Slinkys, stuffed animals andsilly putty can be included. Many party shops will also offer Toy Story-themed novelties, such asnotepads or miscellaneous small toys, that can be added to party bags or awarded as prizes to gamewinners.

Don't be afraid to re-watch the movies to think up your own ideas. Looking at the characters andactions with a fresh perspective can really get creative juices flowing. And thinking outside the boxcan make a truly memorable birthday party for your child.
