George co-authored books on solar energy with Dr. Ryan, developed two factories on the Navajo Reservation and was a field engineer for the Department of Energy. George is survived by his son, John (Diane) of California and daughter, Judith (Gary) and grandson, Matthew MacLeod of Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by his wives, Ruth and Sharon and daughter Janet. A memorial service will be held Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. at Desert View Baptist Church.
George KaliszGeorge Kalisz, 88, passed away on Christmas Day 2017. He was born on July 15, 1929, in Lorain, Ohio. He was a Korean War veteran and an electrical contractor. George built a Pitts Biplane and enjoyed flying. He was a past president of the Winslow Rotary, a Dale Carnegie graduate and a Toastmaster. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association,

Musicians Alison Moore and Phil Lancaster will present a free multi-media presentation that illustrates how this experiment in child migration – when over 250,000 homeless children were taken out of New York City and given away at train stations across the United States from 1854 to 1929 – is filled with both tragic stories and happy endings.
