1. Kaya Kinondo

• Kaya Kinondo was gazetted as National Monument in 1992 by National Museum of Kenya (NMK).

• Kaya Kinondo has started its Community Ecotourism Project in 2003 with the support of several foundations.

• Kaya Kinondo was inscribed in 2009 on the List of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.

2. Mangrove Boardwalk

• Mangrove Ecotourism Project in Gazi village started in February 2006 with the support of Belgian City Council through Kenyan Costal Development Project.

• The project has been operated by the women group with 32 members initially.

• The area of mangrove is 615 ha and 6 species are observed along the boardwalk out of 9 species.
