GENERAL SCHOOL RULES

• Students must not be on the school grounds before 8:25 a.m. unless they are attending an organized activity.

• Students must leave the school grounds at dismissal time unless they are attending an organized activity.

• Students may not go into the office during class time and recess without a pass or teacher permission unless an emergency condition exists.

• At NO time during school hours may students leave the school grounds without clearance from the office and a note from a parent/guardian.

• Students may go home for lunch ONLY if a request has been made by a parent/guardian, the student has been checked out through the office and signed out by a parent/guardian or an adult designated on the green Emergency Card.

• No bicycles, skates, skateboards or roller blades should be at Wood School unless there is a special designated activity day (safety equipment required).

• Students must not walk through the faculty parking lot. • Before school, during recesses and lunch time, students must be on the playground, not in

the corridors, nor in the restrooms, except for their necessary use. • Inappropriate behavior in the restrooms will not be tolerated. • Students must walk quietly in the corridors. They must walk on the blacktop unless they

are involved in an organized activity. • When the FREEZE BELL rings, students must stop whatever they are doing, stand

silently and wait for the whistle, then walk to their class line. • Chewing gum and sunflower seeds are not allowed at school. • When eating, students must be on the lunch benches, outside or in the Cafeteria, or at

designated areas. This applies to recess and lunch time. • Students must not bring personal play items to use on the playground, unless he/she has

received permission from the classroom teacher or principal for a special occasion. • Students must be respectful of themselves and to others. • Violations of school or playground rules will result in detention.
