2020 Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, in support of Holland Bloorview (NEW
Event) The Wheelchair Basketball Tournament is a NEW Initiative for the Toronto Academy of Dentistry in support
of Holland Bloorview. It was a brain-child of the Golf Committee to offer an event that Dentists did not have
to commit an entire day to nor did they need special equipment or specific skills in that event.
6 people per team, 8 teams max and you do NOT have to register as a team. Spectators are encourage to
come, with a minimum donation to the Holland Bloorview. A more casual, social event. Dr. Carmichael will
be taking the teams on a tour of Holland Bloorview when they are not on the courts. This event has been
deferred until it is safe to play.
Education Committee – 2020 All Societies Night
In 2020 we did not have any All Societies Nights. The Education Committee struggled to find a topic that the
4 societies would support. The Toronto Academy needs the financial commitment/support from the
societies so their input is invaluable.
We would like to hold 2 of these per year and ask that each society nominate one or two individuals to sit on
the committee and be the voice of their society. Any topics of interest, please send to [email protected]
Newsletters & Event Recap
Following each event we send out a “Thank you” acknowledging our
Gracious sponsors for their incredible support of the Toronto Academy and the
Charity events that we host. We are also very appreciative of the Dental
Community for their continued support.
