PURPOSE

• Overall strategy, agenda and financial commitment;

• Innovation issues and balanced mix of fundamental and applied research and knowledge transfer;

• Starting with economic and social innovation needs (demand driven), compared to the potential of the knowledge (excellence);

• Two yearly update (rolling agenda, update 2016-2017 ).

• Demand-driven by private sector, government and research institutes.

• Private sector in the lead

• Public-private financing: private share 50% (top sector A&F)

• From 2015 onwards: Public-Private K&I investment 150 million / year

• Applied research € 43 mln (WUR; 34, TNO; 9)

• Fundamental research € 15 mln

• SME innovation fund € 2 mln
