6. Spread out a layer of chicken manure over the nitrogen rich material, approximately 2 to 3 spadefulls of material evenly spread

7. If you have clay rich soil ameliorate your compost with a couple of handfuls of gypsum, this willassist with clay breakdown when compost is applied to your patch post curing

8. To balance out the PH of your heap due to acid release and generation during the curing period Iadd a handful or 2 of garden lime to each layer, this should reduce odour generation, enhance wormand beneficial micro-organism infiltration of the completed heap.

11. Water the 1 st layer thoroughly, you can use bucket, a hose or as I have done above utilise anoscillating sprinkler to ensure equal and thorough wetting down.

12. Repeat steps 1 to 11 util you have built yourheap up to approximately 1m tall, this willfacilitate effective heat generation, efficient andrapid composting and destruction of weed seeds

13. All of your build material is now utilised
