What is BENEFIT about?

BENEFIT

• is a demonstration project under the Intelligent Energy – Europe Program

• runs from 01.09.2008 – 31.08.2011• has a total budget of € 1.276.713 and EU funding of € 957.534

(75%)

BENEFIT´s objective is to show companies and their employees the attractiveness of public transport systems compared to car use via awareness raising measures and activities.

Objectives

• Energy savings in transport: 2.3 million liters of fuel or 5.600 tons of CO2 per year

• Increased use of public transport, 20% on corridor/target area• Reduced transport related emissions of pollutants

• Discourage of the individual use of private cars for commuting

• Spread of the applications of BENEFIT as growing and shining examples

• Dissemination of this towards many other cities in Europe and possible beyond
