Prepared by the National Museum inKrakowandtheZachętaNationalGalleryof Art this exhibition is the first suchcomprehensive presentation covering allareasofworkof thegreatJulianJosephAntoniszczak, just simply and fondlyknownasAntonisz.Hewastheco-founderofthelegendaryStudioofAnimatedFilmsin Krakow, its experimental animationdirector,designer,musician,andinventor!In addition to presenting a rich filmheritage,theexhibitionwillfocusonafacetwhich is as interesting as anything elseof his life,which is the artist’sworkshopand his various techniques. The startingpoint is an archive containing his logsand ideas, collected and separated intocollectionsoverseveraldecadesthroughnotes,newspaperclippings,andprojects.

CZERWIEN: THE CITY BETWEEN EAST AND WEST
More than 600 items - jewelry, weapons,tools-discoveredinCzermnie(Lublin),whichprobably was the main center of the oldRedRuthenia,will be on view fromApril 5,at thePalaceof theBishopErasmusCiolek- Department of the National Museum inKrakow.Theexhibitionpresentsacollectionof historic objects from the period betweenthe 10th and 14th centuries, found duringexcavations in Czermnie, a village nearthe border with Ukraine. Two years agoarchaeologists from the University in Lublinconfirmedtheexistenceofthefoundationsofa Romanesque church, which indicates theexistenceofamajorcenterofmedievalRedRuthenia.Theexhibitionwillinclude:·silverandgold-platedjewelry;·variedweaponsanditemsusedasbattle equipment;· items depicting daily life at that time, includinghomefurnishingsandtoolsof artisans.

Schindler’sFactory Thepermanentexhibition‘KrakówunderNaziOccupation 1939–1945” is a story about thecityand itsNazisoccupierswhoarrivedhereon September 6, 1939, brutally disruptingPolish-Jewish relations. The history of thiswarintersectsherewitheverydaylife,andtheexperiences of individuals overlap with thisgianttragedy.Themottoofthisexhibitionandof theentirebranchof theHistoricalMuseumhereis“thefactoryofmemory”.Thespaceofremembrance created at this former EnamelFactory offers the visitors an opportunity toconfrontthepastinaverypersonalmanner.

Wawel,TheRoyalCastleWawel lies on a small hill above the VistulaRiver where the first settlements beganthousandsofyearsago.Therearesomerealjewels here, amongst them: the exquisitecathedral chapels, the renaissancecourtyardand the State Rooms themselves. In thechambersofthecastleonewillfindcollectionsofOrientalartandmilitarytrophies,collectionsof Flemish tapestries of amazing beauty, aswell as archaeological specimens. Wawel isopen to visitors from 9.30 am to 5 pm, fromTuesday to Friday; on Saturday and Sundayit is open between 11am to 6 pm. Normaladmissionis17pln,anddiscountedis10pln.Ticketsare issued fordefiniteentrancehourssoonehastocomplywiththeentrancetimesprintedontheticket.
TheJagiellonianUniversitywaslaunchedin1364andafterPragueitisthesecondoldestlearningcenterinthispartofEurope.Ithasbeenthealmamater of many known personages in science,politics,cultureandothers,andhasshapedthePolish elite over centuries. Besides being aneducational center the university has severalmuseums such as the Museum of Pharmacy;theZoologicalMuseum;ortheBotanicalGarden.ThemostimportantamongstthemistheuniqueJagiellonian University Museum located in theCollegium Maius. Here one can marvel at theexceptionalcollectionofoldscientificinstruments,university memorabilia, and portraits of theleadingfiguresoftheuniversityovertheyears.
Krakowhasabout360churchesandcathedrals—seeing them all would be a great challenge.However,tounderstandtheirhistoricalmeaningforthiscity,onecandefinitelyconcentrateonthe ones located in the center. Visiting theMariacki Church, which is the central pointofKrakow, isamust;hereonecanfind thefamous altar ofWit Stwosz,made between1477 to1489.Othervenuesclosebynot tobemissed are the Church of St. Peter andSt. Paul on Grodzka street; the Church ofSt.Wojciech in theMarketSquare; and theChurch of John the Baptist and John theEvangelistonJanaStreet.
