TOP END WESTERN HORSE CLUB inc PO Box 1876 Mareeba Qld,4880 [email protected] www.tewhc.webs.com Well what a busy couple of months we all have had, after the March Show, the club put on a training day for the members in preparation for the upcoming A Class Show in June. It was well attended and a lot was learnt and covered about rules, uniform and gear, what the judges expect and we got some special tips from our experts, the club would like to thank Sandra Buckingham, Tass Hulton, Lyn Hickmont and Leanne Buckingham for all their knowledge, intuition and time on the day. Thank you to all that participated and brought morning tea along, was a very successful day. Our next event was the B Class Performance Show on the 19 th & 20 th of May 2018 at the Malanda Pony Indoor Arena, it was windy, wet and cold but the show still went on and was very well attended. Congratulations to Ferna Walsh who took out Supreme Champion with her gorgeous Stallion “SCH Painted Duck” aka Donald. The show was judged by Juliane Corica. We would like to thank Juliane for her support over the weekend. Thank you and congratulations to everyone who came along and participated over the 2 days. Also thank you for your help and support on that weekend. Your assistance was really appreciated, resulting in a very successful event. We would like to thank Wet Pooch Grooming in Mission Beach For their ongoing support and sponsorship. HANDY HINT SHOWING - Smile, own it like your horse is worth a million dollars

We will be making a donation to Cancer Council on the Sunday of this show to a representative, please do not be

ALL RULES FOR OUR SHOWS COME FROM THE AUSTRALIAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION RULES AND REGULATIONS 2016. THIS BOOK IS AVAILABLE ON LINE OR YOU CAN PURCHASE FROM THE ASSOCITATION. OR YOU CAN VIIEW ON LINE AT THIS LINK http://www.aqha.com.au/horse/rule_book/

A two year old horse can only compete in a maximum of three (3) ridden classes at a show and is restricted to Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Trail classes. See rule book for more details.

HALTER CLASSES Horses will walk to the judge one at a time. As the horse approaches, the judge will step to the right (near side of the horse) to enable the horse to trot straight to a cone placed at 15 metres away. At the cone, the horse will continue trotting, turn to the left and trot toward the left wall or fence of the arena. After trotting, horses will be lined up head to tail for individual inspection by the judge. The judge will inspect each horse from both sides, front and rear.

We are looking for volunteers, to help set up and pack up

events, run ribbons and pencil for the judge for the A Class

Show in June, if you can lend a hand that would be greatly

appreciated
