IMC required a supplier that was ableto provide the right solutions, but alsomaintain open lines ofcommunication, and responsivenesswhen issues arose. This was an issuewith previous suppliers.

“When experiencing issues with ourmultifunction devices, it could takedays before we would receive aresponse. We had this occur severaltimes with the previous supplier, andwe were not satisfied with that.' saysAnning Liu, from IMC.

There would be consistent issueswhen printing on heavyweight stock,and as a result the customer wouldneed regular servicing and parts thatwere constantly being replaced. Thiswas causing unwanted disruptions tothe business while the printers werenot operational.

It was also important for themultifunction devices to be equippedto handle high quality printing, thatwas not only cost-effective, butsustainable as well. IMC needed asupplier that could help theirworkplace become ‘smarter’ withmore efficient processes to help driveup productivity . This would includesolutions that were not only easy touse, but also of the latest technology.

A range of Ricoh products wereimplemented in the office that are top-of the line and are of the latesttechnology. The Ricoh InteractiveWhiteboard was installed and has beenused for video conferencing, andallows their staff and external partnersto connect even when using otherconferencing platforms. Most of thevideo conferencing is done withoverseas organisations.

“We are finding the Ricoh interactivewhiteboard very easy to use. Theeraser feature is a great function. I’mimpressed at how quickly our staffhave picked up how to use the newtechnology. It has definitely helpedimprove our ability to connect with ourpartners,” says Anning.

For printers, the Ricoh IM C4500 andIM C300F devices were installedaround the office for staff use,equipped with a booklet finisheroption for the printing of marketingmaterials, as well as booklets. The fastprinting speed of these models hasbeen extremely beneficial for printingof academic materials like exampapers and lecture materials.

“Papercut software is currently beingused with the printers for the students.It allows us to control paper wastage,and also keeps students accountablefor their print usage. In an effort to bemore sustainable and help preventwasted documents. Not only this, butwe have received positive feedback

from the students who use it ,” saysAnning.

Papercut will also be implemented acrossthe print devices being used in the officeand admin areas. This will allowmonitoring and reporting of what staff areprinting and also help reduce costs whichis a requirement of the finance team.

“Overall, we are excited about a continuedpartnership with B2B technologies withfurther opportunities down the track toimplement software solutions to helpautomate processes around capturing datafrom papers, and looking into smarterways of doing things,” says Anning.
