• There’s no need for an introduction of Beyoncé. Many have an opinion of her and her music and she’s just the type of musician you either love or hate. After talking to a few members of the BeyHive, a list of 10 songs were put together to show her wide range of talent as an artist. The list is not necessarily in any order. For the most part it is organized from her first solo album to her most recent album. It would be extremely hard to rate from favorite to least favorite, because all of the songs listed are amazing in their own way. Also, most of the songs chosen on this list were not singles. This was done intentionally to encourage those that maybe unfamiliar with any Beyoncé song that wasn’t a no. 1 single on the Billboard charts. Enjoy!

“Dangerously in Love” was the best song on her debut album as a solo artist. It was also featured on Destiny’s Child’s Survivor album. It was one of the first songs she used to illustrate her love for Jay-Z. However, many can relate it to their own personal love stories.

Beyoncé really gets personal with “Resentment”. Fans of her early music know getting personal was rare for her. The pain and betrayal can be heard in her voice to the extent you feel like someone betrayed you.

“Freakum Dress”

The ladies’ anthem on her sophomore album “B’day”, instantly makes you dance. The ladies love a fun song to get dressed to that makes them feel fierce.

“Irreplaceable”

“Irreplacable” is timeless. It contains all the elements of an empowering breakup song: Attitude, confidence, humor, sass, cockiness, and catch phrases. This song was instrumental in taking Beyoncé’s career to the next level! And she had an all - female band to perform this song on the video and in concert… #GIRLPOWER!

“Scared of Lonely”

“Scared of Lonely” was the last song of her third album “I am Sasha Fierce”. The instruments used to produce the beat are amazing. The steady clap, then the bass drum on top of steady piano combination that mixed with the best violin chords ears have ever heard! The lyrics are relatable and it’s easy to sing to. It’s true what they say about saving the best for last.

“Dance For You”

Beyoncé has a way of making every woman feel her sexiest. This is one of those songs that just makes women drop their insecurities and put on the inner fierce alter ego.

“I Was Here”

One of her most inspirational songs. The song speaks to the dreams and reasons for living for most people. It speaks to the legacies people wish to leave behind.

“Flaws and All”

Every woman has her flaw. In a touching ballad about all of her insecurities and flaws, she tells a story of a beautiful love affair with a man who accepts her with “Flaws and All.”

“Mine”

“Mine” is the only song on this list featuring another artist. The collaboration with Drake is the perfect complement. The song’s bass line is killer. The song describes that rocky point in relationships where people grow and things change. That evolution can sometimes separate couples. She sings about that fear and overcoming it.

“Halo”

“Halo” could be Beyoncé’s best song... ever. The beautiful ballad of metaphors. She showcases her wide vocal range. Find a live performance of it on YouTube. No more explanation necessary.
