The Toowoomba New Innovation Centre provides a home for entrepreneurs and Startups to work in collaboration with the researchers, students and scientists from our Universities including USQ and UQ. The centre will also encompass a Makerspace for the introduction and commercialisation of IoT inventions (Internet of Things) allowing Startups to create locally amazing futuristic Drones, Internet connected Remote Sensors and Infield Technology.

Forming a home to Startup Toowoomba’s accelerator programs, incubator facilities and the collaborative Canvas Coworking providing space for entrepreneurs and Startup colonies from industry looking to find innovative solutions to growth and sustainability. Startup Colonies coming out of Universities, Industry and Social Enterprise will find the entrepreneurial atmosphere uplifting and engaging when they work in the Toowoomba New Innovation Centre and enjoy freedom to innovate outside of the restrictions of their individual silos.

The New Innovation Centre will house a large digital hub (Smart Work Centre) for remote tele-working, saving countless hours of unnecessary transit, lowering emissions and saving money. It will also provide an exceptional event & meeting space to enhance Toowoomba’s existing convention space around the Empire Theatre Precinct. A quality healthy choices café, bar and a day care centre will also be incorporated.

Startup Toowoomba expects it will bring the centre to reality through partnerships we are exploring with Regional Development Australia, Toowoomba Regional Council, USQ, TAFESW, regional business investment, the Queensland State Government and the Australian Federal Government.
