Step Five

Install your OFT Racing steering blocks using all stock bolts/plates. Bushing orientation is critical to retain the floating bushings. The lower block has the bronze facing upwards where the upper faces down as shown below.

Upper below with the aluminum surface facing up.

Tighten down bolts to factory torque specs.

Step Six

The lower steering block is down by the top of the left shock mount.

Remove bolts as before and install the new block. This block gets installed with the bronze surface facing down, when installed the ring on the post will capture the floating bushings but use caution when installing not to drop them.

Tighten down bolts to factory specs.

Notes

Step Seven

Re-install tank counsel and hood in reverse order of removal. Don’t forget to plug your switches back in.

Enjoy your lifetime tight steering bushings!

If you ever feel your self lubricated bushings are “drying out” you can remove them and soak them for a couple days in SAE 30 motor oil to rejuvinate the lubricity in them. This is a good summer project if one feels.
