From the 36” Book Panel - Blue (A), fussy cut:• (12) 8 ½” blocks.

From the Starlet - Red (B), cut:• (6) 1 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (24) 1 ½” x 8 ½” strips.• (6) 1 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (24) 1 ½” x 10 ½” strips.• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 54 ½” strips.• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 44” strips.• (7) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.

From the Screws and Bolts - Blue (C), cut:• (6) 2 ¾” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (48) 2 ¾” x 5” strips. From the Starlet - Yellow (D), cut:• (8) 2 ¾” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (120) 2 ¾” squares.

From the Screws and Bolts - Gray (E), cut:• (2) 2 ¾” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (24) 2 ¾” squares.

From the Nails - White (F), cut:• (6) 2 ¾” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (48) 2 ¾” x 5” strips.

From the Starlet - Royal (G), cut:• (7) 2 ¾” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (96) 2 ¾” squares.

From the Tool Belt Stripe - White (H), cut:• (2) 8 ¾” x 57 ½” Length of Fabric (LOF) strips.• (2) 8 ¾” x 44” LOF strips.

From the Tossed Tools - Blue (I), cut:• (1) 8 ¾” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 8 ¾” squares.

From the Bolts - Gray (Backing), cut:• (2) 68” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 68” x 82” back.

Sewing Instructions1. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 8 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 8 ½” Fabric A block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A block. Trim the block to measure 9 ½” square to make (1) Unit 1 block (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (12) Unit 1 blocks total.

2. Place (1) 2 ¾” Fabric D square on the left side of (1) 2 ¾” x 5” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 3). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.

3. Place another 2 ¾” Fabric D square on the right side of the 2 ¾” x 5” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 4). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 2 strip (Fig. 5).

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (48) Unit 2 strips total.

5. Repeat Steps 2-3 using (48) 2 ¾” x 5” Fabric F strips and (96) 2 ¾” Fabric G squares to make (48) Unit 3 strips (Fig. 6).

Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to the Quilt Layout while assembling.)10. Sew (1) Block One square to each side of (1) Block Two square to make Row One. Repeat to make Row Three.

11. Sew (1) Block Two square to each side of (1) Block One square to make Row Two. Repeat to make Row Four.

12. Sew the (4) rows together in numerical order to make the Center Block.

13. Sew (1) 2” x 54 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2” x 44” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

14. Sew (1) 8 ¾” x 57 ½” Fabric H strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 8 ¾” Fabric I square to each end of (1) 8 ¾” x 44” Fabric H strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

15. Layer and quilt as desired.

16. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric B strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

17. Bind as desired.

6. Sew (2) Unit 2 strips together end to end to make (1) Unit 4 strip (Fig. 7). Repeat to make (24) Unit 4 strips total.

7. Sew (2) Unit 3 strips together end to end to make (1) Unit 5 strip (Fig. 8). Repeat to make (24) Unit 5 strips total.

8. Sew (1) Unit 4 strip to each side of (1) Unit 1 square. Sew (1) 2 ¾” Fabric E square to each end of (1) Unit 4 strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Unit 1 square to make (1) Block One square (Fig. 9). Repeat to make (6) Block One squares total.

9. Sew (1) Unit 5 strip to each side of (1) Unit 1 square. Sew (1) 2 ¾” Fabric D square to each end of (1) Unit 5 strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Unit 1 square to make (1) Block Two square (Fig. 10). Repeat to make (6) Block Two squares total.
