The simplified version of the tool differs consider-ably from the professional one. The most important difference is that the professional impact punch down tool includes a spring impact mechanism which provides uniform force when punching the cable to the contact of the connection module and a final impact. The impact ensures a secure connection of the contact in the module, and, in some types of connection modules it serves to cut off the excess conductor.

Some types of handles permit regulation of the impact force. To terminate the cable the handles should be completed with blades. Different types of blades (��0, Krone, 66) are available for differ-ent types of cross connection systems. There are combined (double-ended) blade types for mount-ing of two types of cross connection panels. When terminating the cable special blades are used to cut the excess cable. In more advanced cross con-nection systems, the excess cable is cut off using the integral scissors.
