Lack of Diagnosis Plus

Lack of Management

• Colorado Thyroid Disease Prevalence Study (1995) - 10% of the population in US undiagnosed, possibly higher.

• American Assoc of Clinical Endocrinologists (2000) 10% of 98 million Americans with high cholesterol may be low thyroid.

• Rotterdam Study (2000) – Women, with hypothyroidism are at 2X at risk for heart attacks due to blockages in the aorta.

• Of patients on synthetic thyroid 40% were not within normal ranges in lab

• TSH is not adequate as an assessment tool.

Where is the Thyroid?

•Anterior aspect of the

neck

•Just below the larynx

•Wing-shaped gland

•Right and left lobe

•Parathyroid glands sit

just on top of thyroid

Functions of the Thyroid

• Maintains proper Basal Metabolic Rate

• Enhances carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism*

• Children – enhances growth

• Excites mental processes

• Increases activity of other endocrine glands

• Increases enzymatic activity

• Increases muscle metabolism and energy system metabolism

Regimen, cont…

• Increased NingXia Red intake 1oz 2X

Observations – Patient

and July Lab Assessment

• These Young Living products really work! (Better than I thought they would!)

• Patient had begun to feel overly warm.

• Patient had begun to feel a bit on edge in retrospect.

• Identified thyroid autoimmune development as player in high HDL on original lab assessment and low thyroid condition.

Page 42: Too Cold too Tired

HOLLY HOUSE Center for Integrated HealthCare

12/7/2014

42

Revised Regimen

• Reduce Thyromin to 1C – 2X per day

• Continue with use of Myrtle and

Frankincense, Sulfurzyme, and NingXia

Red

• Add Endoflex 2 drops –2X per day

• Add Endoflex to Endocrine Vita Reflex

Points.

• Add Immupower 2 drops – 2X per day.

• Add one drop each Hyssop and Cistus.

43

Autoimmune Disease • Occurs when the Immune System begins to

attack the body tissues “with the blessing” of the CNS.

• Many researchers believe it is associated with chronic infection, chronic allergies or presence of toxins confusing our DNA expression.

• Stealth pathogens can invade the inner cell space leading the immune system to identify the cell as problematic and then destroying the cell and like tissues.

Page 44: Too Cold too Tired

HOLLY HOUSE Center for Integrated HealthCare

12/7/2014

44

Autoimmune Disease cont…

• The presence of toxins confuses cell

physiology with ensuing immune cell attack

• Autoimmune Disease is on the rise.

• Caseine and Gluten Sensitivity have been

linked with increased incidence of

autoimmune disease.

• 43% of US population has the gene for

gluten sensitization.

• All those with osteoporosis should be

screened for Celiac Disease or gluten

sensitivity.

Page 45: Too Cold too Tired

•Most common in women

•30 – 40 year old most

common.

•40% of population

•Hypo or Hyper

•Lymphoid Infiltration

Grave’s •Often follows stress

•Follows familial lines

•LATS – Long ActingThyroid Stimulator, an antibody.

•Exophthalmus can be severe.

The Importance of Iodine

• The primordial sea – Iodine was everywhere

• Gradual leaching of Iodine from the soil

• Mountainous areas plus Midwest low

Iodine – Goiters and Cretinism (High

occurrence in the Alps).

• Switzerland adds Iodine to salt – 1920’s

• Today - Due to low salt recommendations

and some of us avoiding commercial salts -

inadequate Iodine intake.
