SelecDve  Toning

•  SelecDve  Toning  is  when  you  mask  (or  cover)  specific  areas  of  your  print

•  The  areas  that  are  masked  stay  B&W,  while  the  unmasked  areas  change  to  the  toner  color

•  This  is  a  great  way  to  give  emphasis  to  a  specific  area  in  your  print  –  FOCAL  POINT.

•  Your  emphasis  can  be  the  new  color  or  B&W.

Masking  with  Rubber  Cement

•  Apply  rubber  cement  to  areas  of  the  print  you  want  to  keep  B&W

•  Let  the  rubber  cement  FULLY  dry  •  Tone  your  print  with  toner  to  add  color  to  the  areas  not  covered  with  rubber  cement.

•  Let  your  print  AIR  dry  •  Use  the  special  eraser  to  pull  off  the  cement

Masking  Tips

•  You  can  be  precise  or  painterly  with  your  masking

•  Make  sure  you  apply  a  nice,  even,  thick  coat  •  Rubber  cement  must  be  FULLY  DRY  prior  to  toning

•  Print  must  AIR  DRY  •  Don’t  peel  the  cement  off  unDl  the  print  is  DRY
