HOME-AND-HOME: PT. IIThe Steel enter this weekend’s home-and-home series against the Gamblers following a three-in-three last weekend. Following victories Friday at Team USA (4-1), and Saturday at Muskegon (3-2 OT), Chicago returned home Sunday to complete a home-and-home against the Lumberjacks. Muskegon beat Chicago, 3-1, to snap the Steel’s four-game winning streak. Tonight, Chicago looks to end a three-game home losing skid. The Steel face Green Bay for the fifth of six total times, with the season series wrapping up Saturday night at Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisc. Chicago is 3-1-0-0 this season against the Gamblers, including two shutouts by Steel netminder Ales Stezka against the Gamblers at the start of the season series.

BADINI BADICIISteel center Jack Badini brings a two-game goal streak into tonight’s contest, plus he also added an assist in the win at Muskegon. The Harvard commit now has a Steel-leading 21 goals on the season, tied for fifth-most in the USHL along with Muskegon’s Collin Adams. Seven of Badini’s tallies have been scored on the power play. The Old Greenwich, Conn., native has already more than quintupled his scoring production from last season when he scored four goals in 56 regular season games for the Lincoln Stars.

THE TABLE IS COLDThe Gamblers look to get back in the win column after dropping both games of a weekend set at home against the Western Conference’s top team, the Sioux City Musketeers.

Green Bay currently sits seven points back of the fourth and final playoff spot in the East, currently held by Youngstown. The team is currently missing Casey Mittelstadt and Matt Anderson. Both are finalists for Minnesota’s prestigious Mr. Hockey award, which was won by Chicago’s Jake Jaremko in 2015. Gamblers captain Jared Spooner picked up a goal and an assist both Friday and Saturday night. The Minnesota State University, Mankato commit now has 38 points (16G, 22A) in 41 games this season.
