“I always design freely without worrying about the practicalities or

limitations of manufacture, which ensures that the design is never

compromised. I revel in the challenge of finding innovative and some-

times complicated methods of turning my designs into practical

furniture. My influences often come from nature and architecture rather

than other furniture designs.

I began in a small workshop, making unique bespoke furniture, before

launching my first collection in 1996 including the Swirl co�ee table and

the DNA shelves, which are more popular today than ever.

It is wonderful to hear how passionate customers are about my furniture.

It is their feedback that has driven me full circle, back to where it all began,

designing inimitable bespoke furniture for individual customers.

I am extremely proud to be in a position today to o�er you this extensive

collection which can be customised on request, and to introduce you to

our comprehensive, bespoke services.”

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We are passionate about creating unique, distinctive furniture with a

strong sense of movement. The designs are pure and honest; they are

beautiful in form and need no additional detailing. We believe that

furniture should stand the test of time and not go out of fashion;

instead they should become contemporary classics. We are committed

to sourcing woods from parts of the world where we can be confident

that there is no illegal logging. We strive to make our furniture ethically

as we believe that we all need to preserve our natural resources for

future generations.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Every piece of furniture is individually handmade

by a team of craftsmen and we have no large scale

machinery in our workshops. Your furniture is only

made once you have chosen exactly what you

want, as we do not keep stock. This means that, by

ordering a Tom Schneider piece of furniture, you

are choosing a truly unique creation.

Most of the designs are made using unique, innovative methods and our

workshops are full of handmade formers and unusual jigs which help us

to create the distinctive shapes for which we are known. All the items

in your order are made at the same time and we select all materials to

match, ie from the same tree. The flowing curves are created by laminating

plywood, which is many thin layers of wood glued together, to form

incredibly strong shapes. They are then skilfully veneered by hand.

Bespoke and Customisation Service

You can be involved in designing a unique piece of bespoke furniture; either by customising an existing design or designing something totally original.

CUSTOMISATION

Because our furniture is handmade to order, you can customise our designs to suit your individual needs. You can choose to customise our furniture with small changes, usually at no extra cost, or make larger alterations that we will quote for through your local stockist. We pride ourselves on the fact that we listen to our customers, and as a result, we have brought out several new standard designs due to requests to custom-ise our furniture.

BESPOKE SERVICE

Long before Tom Schneider designed his current collections, he was designing and making one-o� pieces of bespoke furniture for clients. He is passionate about design, and is always excited to work with customers' ideas.

Bridging the gap between bespoke and designer furniture, Tom Schneider can design a completely bespoke creation made for you. Our technical team is on hand to discuss your requirements, before working closely with Tom to produce drawings. The process is simple and straightforward and your bespoke order will be placed through your furniture supplier, making your purchase local and accessible.

Unlike other bespoke furniture makers, we do not charge for consultation or drawings; therefore you will not be asked to commit until you are com-pletely happy. It is only then that we will start to make your unique design.

Along with these standard options you can use the ‘no arm’ options to make an open ended sofa or to extend the standard options. One scatter cushion is provided for every seat cushion, with the exception of the corner section which comes with two cushions. All Entice units are made at 80 cm deep; however, we can make deeper versions. You can request removable arms so that you make di�erent combinations.

Along with these standard options you can use the no arm 1 seater to have an open ended sofa.One scatter cushion for every seat cushion except the corner which comes with two.All Entice come 80cm deep but we can also do a 100 deep version

THE WOODS WE USE

WOOD OPTIONS

We use the very �nest veneers available. Veneers are cut from tree trunks that are clear-est of branches, thus avoiding large knots and blemishes. They can be laid next to each other to produce seamless joins, which is not possi-ble with solid wood. Using veneers is more environmentally ethical than using solid wood as there is only a tiny fraction of the timber required for each piece. We ensure that our veneers come from well-managed forests. Wood is a natural and wonderful material; no two pieces are the same and this adds to the uniqueness and beauty of your furniture. It must be appreciated that natural grain pat-terns, sap and resin markings will vary from tree to tree. While we make every e�ort to match all products, it must be accepted and appreciated that, by using real wood, there will always be a variance in appearance of grain and markings.

MapleMaple has a very creamy colour with less distinguished grain markings than the other finishes. It can vary from being slightly pink to a yellowish colour. We tend to select veneers which are as white as possible.

AshAsh can vary from a white to a pale yellow colour and has a very strong grain pattern

OakOak has a light, golden brown colour with distinguishing flecks and strong grain pattern.

CherryIt should be noted that natural Cherry darkens dramatically when in contact with sunlight. This change is most notable in the first few weeks. At about eight weeks the process will have slowed but it will continue to darken subtly over time, until it reaches its characteristic beautiful reddish brown colour. You can clearly see the differ-ence in the photograph between the smaller area, which has been exposed to sunlight, and the larger area, which has not. This is important to note as you will receive the furniture before it has been exposed to sunlight.

WalnutWalnut has a rich chocolate colour, sometimes with a hint of purple. It is normally straight-grained and is noted for its beautiful grain character, producing more figure variation than any other wood.

Zebrano

As we cannot be certain natural Zebrano is ethically sourced, we have developed a stained wood as an excel-lent ethical alternative. Our Zebrano is predominantly brown in colour and features prominent cream streaks.

EbonyAs we cannot be certain natural Ebony is ethically sourced, we have developed a stained wood as an excellent ethical alternative. Our Ebony is predominantly black in colour with chocolate colour brown streak

WengeWe have found that with any wood darker than Walnut, we cannot be sure that it has been sourced ethically. Therefore, due to the high demand for darker woods, we have developed this stained wood which is an excel-lent ethical alternative. Like Wengé, it is dark chocolate in colour.

BlackBy using Ash veneer and painting it black, we can now achieve a stunning black finish with a prominent grain. If a smoother, non-grain finish is preferred we can use painted Beech veneer as an alternative.

WhiteBy using Ash veneer and painting it white, we can now achieve a stunning white finish with a prominent grain.

If a smoother, non-grain finish is preferred we can use painted Beech veneer as an alternative.

CHOICE OF MATERIALS

MODA and INCA These are semi-corrected leathers. SAUVAGE This is a natural leatherpigments in the initial coat, with later coats containing a contrasting dye. It is a very soft, supple leather and needs a little more care than pigmented

LEATHER

We use a range of very high quality leather from one

of the UK’s leading suppliers. Real leather is a natural

product which improves with age. It is warm in

winter, cool in summer and is easy to care for. We o er

three types of leather which are natural; semi-corrected

and corrected.

Natural leather is made from high quality hides

which proudly bear the hallmarks of their origin. The

uniqueness of each hide’s characteristics enhances

the appearance and distinguishes natural leather

from imitations. If you nd small markings such as

healed scars, insect bite marks or neck growth lines,

you can be con that you have purchased quality

leather. These marks all appear in high quality natural

leather. They are not defects and will not shorten the

life of the leather.

Semi-corrected leathers are made with high quality

hides and finished with a pigmented topcoat. The e ect

provides a beautiful feel with a light sheen finish. These

hides may show some natural marks and scars, giving

evidence of the natural origin of leather.

Corrected leathers are finished with a pigmented

topcoat and embossed with an artificial grain pattern.

These types of leather are more stain-resistant and are

more easily cleaned than other leathers. They o er

excellent durability and will stand up to more robust

use. These hides show a minimum of natural marks

and scars.

FABRICS

We use a range of beautiful microfibre suede-e ect

resistant to staining. The Rio range has been Teflon

coated and requires no further protective treatment. We

are happy to use fabrics that you have chosen from any
