2. The Strip Club: No we haven’t gone completely crazy! But you know

the saying “girls just gotta have fun”! What we are going to do is provide you with yet another way to create exciting quilts using either precut strips or strips you can cut from your stash. We will have some great ideas on how you can work with these strips in a variety of projects. This club takes place once a month. Pattern included in class fee. There will be lots of fun along with goodies, coffee and tea! Aren’t you just a bit curious? Sign up for three

3. Pacific Northwest Splendor: AKA - “Row By Row” Technique Quilt: Maureen designed this quilt using the Pacific Northwest as her inspiration. Each class offers a new row and a new technique. Drop by the shop to see the sample. This project is being offered as a monthly class for anyone wanting to sit down and stitch the row with instruction, but will also be available for sale as a pattern/kit. Kits and supply lists available.

4. Embroidery Club for All Embroidery Machines: We have a new line up of fun project for spring.

We will make a tea cozy, embroider on soap and make a table runner. Techniques learned will be embroidery placement, placing multiple patterns and embroidering on new medium and more. This club has been designed to work on all current brands and models of embroidery machine with a min 5” x 7” hoop. This club is a great way for the beginner or the experienced embroiderer to become more familiar with their embroidery machine. 5. The Romance Continues: Here’s a great opportunity to stitch one of Marti Michell’s block of the month quilts using her Perfect Patchwork Templates Sets B & D. Three blocks will be presented each month leaving one session for sashing and finishing techniques. Kits available. Supply list available.

6. Elegant Elements: Each Elegant Elements Block is unique - giving you

something new to learn in each class. Blocks are quick to stitch out on your embroidery machine with a an average stitch out time of 30 mins and only 4 thread colours per block. Digital cut files have also been included if you would like to cut your pieces out with your cutter. Block sizes available are 5”, 6”, 7”, 8”, 9”. Each block is unique, only 6 blocks repeat so you will be making something new every month.

Machine Classes

8. Sewing Machine Level 1: This class will cover the basics of learning to operate your machine. Threading your machine, winding your bobbin, tension top and bottom , straight stitch, stitch length dials, stitch width dials ,needle up and down buttons, reverse, tension on zig zag ,dropping feed dogs, needle positions, presser foot pressure, threads. For those of you who just purchased a sewing machine at Tom’s or Countryfolk this would be lesson number 1.

9. Sewing Machine Level 2: This class includes different types of buttonholes

blind hem , rolled hem, sewing on buttons, stretch stitches, and other stitches on your machine. Learn how important and useful your machines stitches are. For those of you who just purchased a sewing machine at Tom’s or Countryfolk this would be one of your FREE lessons.

10. Sewing Machine Level 3: Level 3 is about computerized machines.

Decorative stitches , programming, memory , elongating stitches, balancing stitches. You will be able to use more of those decorative stitches on your machine. For those of you who just purchased a sewing machine at Tom’s or Countryfolk this would be one of your FREE lessons.

11. Machine Embroidery Level 1: Do you have a new embroidery machine? Come learn the basics on how to set up your machine to do embroidery. Find out about thread, stabilizers, how to hoop and how to open patterns and get ready to embroider. You will also learn how to save a pattern onto a USB stick or memory card. This class is FREE if you bought your embroidery machine from us.

12. Serger Class Level 1: Do you have a serger, but don’t understand threading and tensions? This course will teach you how to thread your machine, balance your tensions, lock that stitch at the end of your seam and sew: inside corners, outside corners, inside curves and outside curves. The class manual is $25.00 but, if you sign up for at least three classes at once, the manual is half price.

13. Serger Class Level 2: In level 2 we move onto 3-thread serging. You will

learn about 3-thread wide, 3-thread narrow, 3-thread decorative, rolled hem, lettuce edge, pin tucks and spaghetti straps.

14. Serger Class Level 3: In level 3 we deal with 2-thread serging, narrow

Quilt Classes

15. Stack n Whack 4 patch: The 4-patch is a natural extension of the Stack 'n' Whack technique. Easier than the 8 pointed pinwheel this quilt goes together fast. I started with a playful print that I didn't want to cut small. With the addition of some brights, we have a cheerful quilt a kid of any age would enjoy.

16. Tiny Applique Scotties: This is a sweet little machine appliqué project. You can make as many dogs as you want to make a wallhanging. The sample is in black and white but I’ve even made them in blue and yellow.

19. Quick Curve Mini Quilts -This is a great class to use up some of your stash but can also be planned using just a few fabrics. Students will learn the tricks of using the QCR Mini Ruler while cutting and stitching blocks. Students may purchase a pattern to work by or create a design of their own. Supply list available.

20. Great Scrap Buster Quilt: Are you looking for a way to start using up some of your scraps that are at least 4 1/2" square? The "Which Way Block" is just one of the blocks that is very easy to cut out using the Goddess Ruler by Needle In a Hay Stack. Students will work on cutting and stitching a few blocks in class. 21. Another Nother Stack n Whack: The fifth in our series of stack n whacks, you can make this fun, easy quilt with just one feature fabric and 2 accent colours. 23. Jelly Roll Star: Just a jelly roll and some background and you create a stunning quilt top. It measures 63 inches by 63 inches and is very simple to sew. Great for the quilter who has already done the basics and is ready for the next step.

24. Another Jelly Roll, Another Exceptional Quilt: This jelly roll quilt uses a constant colour and an easy assembly method to create a quilt with style and panache in record time. Sewing your strata is the hardest part. The size of the quilt can be increased by adding extra strips or an extra half jellyroll or borders.

25. Scrappy Mystery Quilt: The clues will be given over the period of three months. I will be at the shop to hand out the clues and help with sewing each month. You will need scraps of two different colours and scraps of light background colours. The two different colours should be very distinct from each other. Example: red and black or green and yellow. Not light pink and light purple. The scraps will be 2 ½ inch squares or strips and you will also need scraps that measure 5 ½ inches square or 4 ½ inch wide strips if using an easy angle ruler to make half square triangles. The quilt finishes at 80 by 80 inches without borders. Come join in and use up more of those scraps.

26. Cactus Wreath: This is a simple variation on a traditional log cabin quilt. Organizing and

27. "Beyond Beginner" In this class you will be taken to the next step. I will show you new blocks teaching you new techniques. Once you have finished your blocks I will then show you how to sash your quilt properly. For this class you should have taken the beginner class as you will already have the foundations for making a quilt.

29. Not my Grandmother's Flower Garden Table Runner : Large hexagons make this a speedy project, despite the set in seams. The Northern Star Table Topper: pattern is a Cut Loose Press pattern, which is different than a traditional Quiltworx pattern in that it utilizes various tools and Charm Elements to create fast, fun, projects and layouts aimed at the beginner or a customer that simply wants to try out a fast project to learn a new technique or how to use a new tool. Julie will teach the basics of foundation paper piecing at this class

making and share my tricks for accuracy and easy quilting. If you haven't quilted before this is a great project to see what quilting is all about. You will learn rotary cutting, strip piecing, pressing, machine quilting and binding techniques. It's also a great class for quilters who would like to improve their skills.

34. Row by Row Tote: Do you want to be ready for all the fun quilt shop hopping when Row By Row Experience starts in June? Then you need to stitch one of the 2016 Tote Bags that's sure to hold lots of patterns and kits. This one day workshop will get you well on your way to completing your bag. You can use your own fabric or pick up one of three different colour kits that we have prepared using the new "Home Sweet Home" themed fabric for 2016. Some pre-cutting is recommended so be sure to pick up a supply list.

35. A Ten-Minute Block? Yes, seriously.....O.K., if you're a little bit

slow, it might take fifteen minutes! This is THE easiest block you'll ever make. You can make it any size.

37. Star Log Cabin: Another scrap project but the scraps are planned out. The sample uses whites, and a mixture of reds and Christmas prints. It would make a great table topper or maybe a wall hanging. You may stay with the Christmas colour theme or use any colour plan of your choice. Pre-cutting strips will make the project come together quickly.

42. A Charming Bag :18” W X 9” D X 13” H: This versatile bag is made with 5” pre cut charm squares or squares that you have cut from your own stash fabrics. It can be made in various sizes but the large size will be taught in class and created over two sessions. Soft & Stable is used for the batting so the bag stands up quite nicely when completed.
