Centered on themes inspired by Symphony programs, these lectures, movie screenings and performances have covered diverse topics from the pain of the Civil War to modern day film culture. This year’s festival celebrates the genius of Mozart, the fascinating time period of the 18th century, and the ways it continues to intrigue us today. We’re proud to have the Valentine Theatre participating this year—as they have agreed to show the Academy Award winning film Amadeus on their popular Silver Screen Classics Series. YOU’RE INVITED The series culminates on February 7th & 8th when the Symphony performs the original Peter Shaffer play Amadeus accompanied by music from the film—all performed live. The following week, the UT Orchestra and Choirs perform their own All Mozart performance in the University’s newly-renovated Doermann Theater. MOST EVENTS ARE FREE Light refreshments will be provided at all Libbey Hall lectures, and we encourage robust Q&A following each talk. Please join us!
