Starts from 2007, Tokyo Marathon is a huge sports event that is being held every year in the Tokyo downtown area. It belongs to Abbott World Marathon Majors (including Tokyo marathon Boston Marathon, London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon & New York City) and the only one in Asia.

If you have ever ran the course, you are able to see several landmarks in Tokyo. It includes Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices, Asakusa, Ginza and Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Station. It was included to be one of the marathon events in Abbott WMM since 2012. Since then, the event enjoys a large popularity among Asia area. As only 37,500 runners are allowed to join every year, the percentage of getting in are as low as 10% every year. Contributing to a very challenging situation on the application every year.
