ONE MINUTE INSTALLATION
The LEAKMARKER Insert alarm
cap is an easy installation and
the best retrofit solution to install
a leak detector without moving
the existing toilet
WE SUPPORT
Water that leaks from a toilet may flow
through the subfloor and into the room
that sits below the toilet. Water does not
always flow straight down, it may run
along a water pipe or other surfaces in
the subfloor for a few feet, before leaking
into the room below.
The leaking water may short out ceiling
light fixtures, damage the ceiling, which
leads to damaging the floor and furniture
that sits below the leak.

Ceiling Damage
WE SUPPORT
This type of leak can damage the
subfloor, flooring and possibly the
ceilings below the toilet. It also creates
an unhealthy situation in your bathroom.
The water that is leaking out of the base
of the toilet is dirty water. This type of
leak may cause an odor. Mold grows
where moisture is present and it
releases spores into the air, which may
lead to health issues, resembling cold or
flu symptoms, or even severe medical
conditions for those with weak immune
systems or respiratory conditions. Once
mold takes hold of porous surfaces such
as drywall or insulation, you must throw
away the materials and replace them. If
mold grows for a long period of time, it
can weaken floor joists and wall studs,
requiring them to be replaced.

MOLD
WE SUPPORT
Undetected Toilet
Undetected toilet leaks are a
significant source of property
damage.
WE SUPPORT
A leaking toilet can cause the floor
to rot, the flange to loosen and the
leak to get worst. Water damage in
the subfloor may lead to warping
and weakening of the floor joists
around the toilet, causing the floor
to bow or flex when you walk on it.
Removing the old floor joists and
installing new ones may require you
to rip out the bathroom floor and the
ceiling below. Small leaks trapped
beneath the toilet will eventually rot
the floor surfaces, and the
underlying framing.

Subfloor Damage
How a toilet works
Inside toilets, waste water exits to a
flanged drain pipe in a bathroom
floor. Toilets are typically bolted to a
flange, which is mounted to the
floor and coupled to the drain pipe.
Toilet installations need a gasket, a
wax or rubber ring, to seal the gap
between the drain pipe and the
toilet to produce a liquid-tight seal.
