A. About UsSince the very first company of the group was founded in 1995, we have continued to grow and diversify, successfully estab-lishing ourselves in a number of different market sectors. Over the last 22 years, we have developed our businesses to the extent that the group is proud to have companies in a variety of business sec-tors, from travel and aviation to recruit-ment services, insurance, catering and entertainment to hotel management and online tourism.

Today, the group consists of nine com-panies, five in Cyprus and four abroad, geographically enhancing our position. All companies together employ more than 200 people under the umbrella of the mother company, Orthodoxou Group of Companies. The global nature of our group, coupled with our close relation-ships with our affiliate companies and associates, continues to offer our cus-tomers the highest level of personal ser-vice, wherever they are. It’s September 1995 and a young entre-preneur decides to open a small office in the village of Xylophagou in Larnaca. That young man is Mr. Antonis Orthodoxou, who would later go on to build the Ortho-doxou Group of Companies as we know it today.

Back then, Mr. Orthodoxou was a one-man band, serving a modest number of customers but with a determined vision for the company’s future. Through his am-bition, within two years the company had moved to new premises and was already employing three people.

By the year 2000, the business continued to expand with the opening of another of-fice in Paralimni. By then, the company had doubled its workforce to six. Two years further down the line and a new of-fice branch was opened in Larnaca. Dur-ing these initial seven years, the group had managed to enter the markets of re-cruitment, travel, insurance and other re-lated services.

B. A HISTORY OF SUCCESSWell aware that the Cyprus market was relatively modest in size, a decision was taken to expand abroad and, in 2004, the group opened its first travel office in Bul-garia. The group began to specialize in the Bulgarian Market, offering its services for a number of years, something which helped tremendously in gaining experi-ence in overseas markets. This proved to be key in developing the many business partners and associates that the group enjoys today, spread across more than 20 countries.

With a diverse portfolio of businesses, in February 2006 it was decided that the management and administration of the different companies should be housed under one roof. The head office was sub-sequently established in Larnaca, under the management of Orthodoxou Group of Companies, giving the group a consistent identity and a solid framework from which to continue its expansion.

This expansion continues until this day with branches opening in Larnaca Inter-national Airport (2008), Nicosia (2011), an Intenso office in Bulgaria (2011) and Orthanna Aviation office (2013) in Bulgaria.

Starting from 02/01/2013 Orthodoxou Aviation has been appointed as General Sales Agent (GSA) in Cyprus to market Gulf Air’s Larnaca - Bahrain route as well as the airline’s other destinations. Ortho-doxou Aviation is honoured and privileged to in-clude the prestigious carrier Gulf Air to its portfolio. The company is handling Gulf Air’s sales and ticket issuance in the country in addition to promoting the airline’s destinations in the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Far East to drive tourism, leisure and corporate travel from Larnaca via Gulf Air’s ef-ficient Bahrain hub.

Founded in 1950, Gulf Air is the proud national car-rier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. As a pioneering air-

line in the Middle East region with over sixty years of experience and expertise in flying people across continents, Gulf Air is today one of the most power-ful brands and a name to reckon with in the global aviation industry.

One of the prime objectives of Gulf Air is to con-nect Bahrain to the Middle East countries and the rest of the world. As such the airline currently op-erates the largest network in the Middle East with non-stop flights while providing seamless onward connections to other international destinations. As GSA we take care of all the commercial and operational aspects, such as promoting sales and providing a dedicated call centre, which includes Romanian and Greek speaking personnel for the

best customer service.

Blue Air established it’s operation base in Larnaca International Airport since 2015, now having three aircrafts, with direct flights to Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Athens, Thessaloniki, London (Luton), Birmingham and Liverpool, with onboard local Cy-priot staff and products.

Additionally Blue Air connects Larnaca to a net-work of 52 destinations in Europe via Bucharest (Otopeni).

As from February 2014, Orthodoxou Aviation has been appointed as General Sales Agent (GSA) in Cyprus to market Arkia’s global destinations and mainly Larnaca – Tel Aviv route.

ARKIA is Israel’s second largest airline, operating scheduled domestic and international services as well as charter flights.

The Airline was founded in 1949 and has been growing

ever since. In the year 2007 the airline was awarded a scheduled operator’s license for flights to Larnaca.

The fleet of ARKIA today includes 4 Airbus, A321neo , 2 Boeing 757-300, 2 Embraer 190 & 195 and 5 Atr 72-500 .

It serves 25 cities in 16 different countries.

Starting from 05/04/2012 our company as an air-line and tourism management specialist under-takes all marketing, sales and ticketing activities in Cyprus aiming to develop and increase pas-

senger volume from / to Cyprus on SmartWings flights.

SmartWings offers direct connections between Larnaca and Prague throughout the year All flights are operated by B737-800 aircraft in an economy class configuration with a capacity of 189 seats.

Ethiopian Airlines, one of the fastest growing air-lines companies in Africa, is represented in Cy-prus as from 27-01-2012, by Orthodoxou Avia-tion Ltd Cyprus as General Sales Agent.

Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopian) is the flag carrier of Ethiopia. During the past sixty five years, Ethio-pian has become one of the continent’s leading carriers, unrivalled in Africa for efficiency and operational success, turning profits for almost

all the years of its existence. The airline is also proud of being a member of Star Alliance since December 13, 2011. According to the African Aviation News Portal, Ethiopian Airlines have recently received the Gold Award 2011/2012 as the African Airline of the Year.

We are proud to announce that as from the 21st of May 2014, Orthodoxou Aviation has been ap-pointed as Qeshm Air’s GSA in Cyprus.

Qeshm Air was established in 1993 and started operation by leasing aircrafts and in 1996 started its operation with flights routed Tehran-Qeshm, Tehran-Dubai and other domestic flights by the conclusion of the lease contract agreement with the owners of wide-body passenger aircraft.

Qeshm Air first passenger flights started with two aircrafts and in 2000 the company had 7 aircrafts in its fleet.

The company was able to operate domestic and Holy shrines flights to Mashhad, Damascus and succeeded to operate flights to Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah and Manameh (Bahrain). In ad-dition of passenger transportation, the company acquired two Ilyushin 76 cargo aircrafts with ca-pacity of up to 50 tons and carried on various flights such as Tehran - Shanghai, Tehran - Is-tanbul, Tehran - Kabul and Tehran - Islamabad.

In 2008 Qeshm Air went under a new manage-ment and until this day acquired four Fokker 50, four Fokker 100, four RJ100, one RJ80, three Air-bus A320 and five Airbus A300-600.

the heart of Sunny Beach Resort

the franchising rights to open a Coffee Island shop in Larnaca, at

Faneromenis Avenue.
