Congratulations to Stingray and Leopard classes who have won the attendance trophy over the
past fortnight. Remember, the 30 children with the best attendance at the end of the year will get
a very special prize!
A special congratulations to Stingray class for achieving 100% attendance for two weeks running!
Maths Competition
Some of our older children attended a challenging maths competition at Explore Learning in Ilford. They had to work as a team to use all their knowledge of maths to solve some tricky problems.
We are awaiting the final results but hope to move on in the competition where the final will be held at Cambridge University. Either way, we are very proud of all the children that took part especially all the knowledge and skills that they showcased following their learning in school.
WE Volunteer Now—Grandparent’s Day
Year 2 have held the first WE campaign of the year by volunteering some of their time to invite loved ones in to school to share their learning. The day consisted of reading favourite books, making welcome speeches, playing maths games that the children had created and decorating cakes, all of which was prepared throughout the week in their English and Maths lessons. Not only did the children get to apply all their learning when preparing for the WE campaign, but they also got to make some very special memories with their families. Thank you to everyone that came along and supported the children. We are looking forward to the next campaign that will be coming soon
Clubs
There is a real sense of excitement around the school now that all our lunchtime and after school clubs have started. Our choir sounded amazing on Wednesday and the Science club members have already begun to transform in to enquiring scientists!
If your child attends an after school club, please remember to pick them up promptly from the main playground in St Johns Road at 4.15pm. We thankyou for your co-operation.
Assemblies and Events
May we remind you that if you are attending a class assembly or event that the school has organised that you must be on time. Any parent, carer or adult arriving after the advertised time will not be allowed entrance. Adults entering late can be distracting to the children or the person running the event. Thank you for your understanding.
Aldborough gets musical!
A massive thank you to the PGA who have donated money to the school to help us purchase some glockenspiels to use in our music lessons. Without the PGA we would not have been able to purchase such quality instruments for the children to use. Thank you to all parents who have attended PGA events which has enabled them to raise funds to purchase items for the school.
We hope to share the children’s learning with you soon.
