THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2013 3F EATURESI had morning depression and sleepless nights
turn. This might giveme a little peace of mind. Am I rightabout this, Joe?
I learned a lotfrom this experience.I learned to be strong,to reach for my dreams and live life
without regrets. I only wish to be happy,
that’s why I try tolook at things posi-tively. I am at a turn-ing point where I’mready to love again.
Hoping to hearfrom you, Joe.
Sincerely,Florence
DEAR Florence,The hardest part of be-
ing in love iswhen we beginto hang loosely
on one endwithout know-ing what ex-
actly is happening onthe other end. Not all
vows are made in heav-en. There are many who break their
promises of forever andleave their partners cry-ing and hurting.
Your boyfriend metanother woman and
fell in love with her. So,what else is new? Thishappens almost every-where. The only differ-ence that spells thosewho are worthy of be-ing loved is their ability to control their passion, think sensibly and giveregard to the feelings of others. Your boyfriend
forgot about you when
DEAR Joe,Just call me Florence. I’ve been with
my boyfriend for three yrs. We havethe same occupation, and that’s how we met. During our first year together,we were inseparable. Those were thehappiest moments of my life. Neverbefore have I felt so secure and ful-filled. He was my first boyfriend. Igave him all the love he wanted.
But of course thereis always a time fortemporary goodbyes. He transferred toManila. During thetwo years of beingapart, I conquered alltemptations, shieldedmyself from it all. Ikept believing that he
would never change, that he would contin-ue to love me no mat-ter how far apart we
were. I forgot aboutmyself. I forgot aboutmy social life. I hadsuitors when he was
away, but I turnedthem all down.
We had constantcommunication, de-spite the distance. I
would tell him allabout the guys whostarted to court me.That was how our re-lationship was fromthe start—honest andopen. We promised
we’d tell each other if
one of us has fallenout of love.Last month, I went
to Manila to see him.I missed him somuch. He even askedme to marry him. I
was happy because Ifelt that he didn’tchange at all, he stillloves me very much.
After that I wentback home, and re-
turned to my usualroutine. Then some-thing happened, Joe.The usual constantcommunication slow-ly died down. I wouldcontinuously e-mailand text him. But hisresponses becamescarce, and eventually he just stopped. Icouldn’t understand
what was happening. So finally, Joe, after
three months of not
hearing from him, I wrote a very long e-mail, demanding foran explanation. I was
very much affected by what was happening.I suddenly turned in-to this irritable, para-noid person. I hadmorning depressionand sleepless nights.
Then I finally heard from him. Hecalled me, ready withthe explanation I wasasking for. He fell in-love with someoneelse, a girl he met
and they’ve been to-gether for two yearsalready.
He wanted abreak-up, and even if it hurt me so much, Iagreed. At first, Icouldn’t let him go. Icouldn’t get over thepain. I felt so rejectedand unwanted. My friends did their bestto help ease the pain,
and show their careand support. Now I’m beginning
to heal, though very slowly. I feel a bit bet-ter now, secure andfree. I tell myself thatthe break-up was agood thing. Imagineliving everyday, be-lieving that he stillloved me, when allalong he was lying to
me.But, Joe, I still want to see him. I want to talk to himpersonally to ease my feeling of rejection. I
want to tell him that we could still befriends. I am notthinking of trying to
win him back. But I would like to let himknow that I lovedhim, without expect-
ing anything in re-

he went to Manila andhe forgot about yourrelationship when he
met his new girl. Hewas definitely thinkingonly of his feeling with-out any thought of howhis actions will affect
you. He kept you hang-ing for two years andmade you believe thathe would still be there
for you. Florence, I know
you still love him andif talking to him would
make you feel betterthen go ahead and ease your desire. But, don’ttry to win him back orexpect anything in re-turn. If you want tolove him, then just lovehim for being a part of
your past. Don’t waste your emotions on someone who doesn’teven care about how
you feel. Let your heart find love again. Slowly move out of his circle
and be free. Give your- self the chance to meetnew acquaintances, en-
joy new friendshipsand explore the possi-bility of finding some-one who would love
you sincerely. Someone you can share yourdreams and maybe
your forever with.

GOLDEN SCREEN AWARDS
No glam, just fun with a strong sense of togetherness amongartists, the press andother people workingin the business. The
venue—small and in-timate—allowed ev-eryone to mingle
freely in what turnedout to be a casual,fun-filled night.
It wasn’t unusual tosee stars hopping fromone seat to another tocatch up with theirfellow celebs. Onemoment, they wereseen sitting beside AraMina, the next minute
with Coco Martin. Ed-
die Garcia was seensitting where Jun Lanaused to sit. Near thestage, eager fans wereasking, almost beg-ging, anyone to snap a
photo of them with“Juan de la Cruz.”
All of a sudden,Coco burst into a fit of laughter as his man-ager Biboy Arboledascrambled toward thestage to accept thebest supporting ac-tress (drama, musical, comedy) award on be-half of Anita Linda(Sta. Niña).
“Oh, I love thisnight,” Alfred Vargas(Supremo) muttered tohimself as he stood upfrom his seat to accepthis best actor award(drama) together withEddie ( Bwakaw),
whom he tied with. After dedicating his win to his wife andcancer-stricken moth-er, Alfred helped Eddieup onstage.
Meanwhile, as Gi-na Alajar cautiously climbed the steps toget her best actress(drama) trophy for
Mater D olorosa, abooming “That’s my tita!” echoed acrossthe venue. It was SidLucero, lookingmighty pumped up…as always.
Because Aga Muh-

was leading lady Regine Velasquez whoaccepted his best actor

ORGANIZED by the Entertain-ment Press Society, the 10thGolden Screen Awards for
Movies held last Saturday at Teatrino
in Greenhills, San Juan City, was de- void of spectacle or that overwhelmingglamour and star power one wouldusually expect in an awards night.
The stars came intrickles, and not every-one was dressed to thenines. Instead of eye-catching designergowns, most of theladies opted for simplerand more comfortable
dresses. The programitself was fairly straightforward, savefor a few song num-bers here and there.

Binanggit ni Jackson siKenneth Faried na may mahuhusay at ilegal nascreen. “He did his job. Hey, Iplayed with guys like that.
They get paid to do that.Dale Davis, Anthony Davis,
Charles Oakley. You get paidto do it. So give them credit,”ani Jackson. Pinuna ni Jack-son ang mga tira sa bukong-bukong ni Curry.
‘‘That can’t be debated. Igot inside information thatsome people don’t like thatbrand of basketball and they clearly didn’t co-sign it. They
wanted to let me know they have no parts in what wastaking place.’’
Sinagot ito ni Faried.“It’sbasketball. I try to do the lit-tle things my team needs meto do. It’s physical. If youcan’t stand the physicality,
