FROM THE PARISH OFFICE ● VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – Attached is the 2017 Vacation Bible School flyer and registration form. This is a joint venture of St. Bernadette Parish and St. Francis of Assisi Parish. It will be held from August 7th through August 12th from 9:30 a.m. to noon at St. Francis of Assisi Unity Place. ● PARKING LOT - All families in our parish community were sent special red-framed contribution envelopes for our parking lot fund. To date, 33 school families have contributed to this fund. We hope to re-surface our front parking lot next summer. In the meantime, we are raising funds for this project goal: $70,000. We are grateful for donations of any amount. Multiple envelopes were mailed for the convenience of those families wanting to donate on a weekly/monthly/bimonthly, etc. schedule. This is a project that affects all of us.

GIRLS: No short dresses, no tight fitting or low-cut dresses, dress/light colors, white preferred. If dress has spaghetti straps or bare shoulders, a jacket or sweater must be worn at all times. (Please Note: the same dress may be worn for other events, such as: Graduation Mass, Graduation Brunch, and Graduation Ceremony-Reception.)

● VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY – Volunteers are needed to remove large items from the side stage. Access to a truck is required and 4 volunteer hours will be earned for 1 hour of work! ● SUMMER PREP AT SEATTLE PREP - Sign up for Summer Prep camps and classes today! Summer Prep is a great opportunity for middle school students to take enrichment classes at Seattle Prep. Registration is now open for students that will be entering 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the 2017-18 school year. Prep offers a wide variety of experiences in academics, athletics, and the arts. Summer SCHOOL at St. George

Dates: June 26 through July 28 with the exception of July 3 and 4th.

We offer a 5 week academic summer school program with Certified

Teachers, NOT a summer camp. It’s an all or none program in order

for students to make the most gains academically. There will be up to 12 spots per class K-8 available.

We give priority to students who would benefit from academic support in math, reading and writing.

Summer school registration is open to all students currently attending a Rainbow school. Your own

school uniform is the required dress code. All students who apply must come with a positive,

cooperative attitude ready to learn.

Applying students must submit Winter and Spring MAP Student Progress Report along with a teacher

recommendation for areas of focus. Please contact your child’s teacher for those pieces.

Any parent who wishes to enroll his or her student will be REQUIRED TO ATTEND A PARENT

EDUCATION NIGHT in June (Date To Be Announced). Summer School requirements will be clarified,

along with various research- based strategies to support your child’s academic growth at home.
