Our 8th grade students will be graduating next Thursday, June 1, 2017. Our entire student body will celebrate their graduation mass at 9:00 AM in the Church and their graduation ceremony will take place at 7:00 PM. Please pray for our 8th graders as they continue their educational journey! Thank you to our 7th grade parents for organizing and planning their reception! God of our beginnings, we thank you for the gifts of these graduates; their excitement, their awesome wonder and curiosity, their open speech and encouraging words. FROM THE PARISH OFFICE ● VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – Attached is the 2017 Vacation Bible School flyer and registration form. This is a joint venture of St. Bernadette Parish and St. Francis of Assisi Parish. It will be held from August 7th through August 12th from 9:30 a.m. to noon at St. Francis of Assisi Unity Place. ● PARKING LOT - All families in our parish community were sent special red-framed contribution envelopes for our parking lot fund. To date, 33 school families have contributed to this fund. We hope to re-surface our front parking lot next summer. In the meantime, we are raising funds for this project goal: $70,000. We are grateful for donations of any amount. Multiple envelopes were mailed for the convenience of those families wanting to donate on a weekly/monthly/bimonthly, etc. schedule. This is a project that affects all of us.

● VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY – Volunteers are needed to remove large items from the side stage. Access to a truck is required and 4 volunteer hours will be earned for 1 hour of work! Summer SCHOOL at St. George

Dates: June 26 through July 28 with the exception of July 3 and 4th.

We offer a 5 week academic summer school program with Certified

Teachers, NOT a summer camp. It’s an all or none program in order

for students to make the most gains academically. There will be up to 12 spots per class K-8 available.

We give priority to students who would benefit from academic support in math, reading and writing.

Summer school registration is open to all students currently attending a Rainbow school. Your own

school uniform is the required dress code. All students who apply must come with a positive,

cooperative attitude ready to learn.

Applying students must submit Winter and Spring MAP Student Progress Report along with a teacher

recommendation for areas of focus. Please contact your child’s teacher for those pieces.

Any parent who wishes to enroll his or her student will be REQUIRED TO ATTEND A PARENT

EDUCATION NIGHT in June (Date To Be Announced). Summer School requirements will be clarified,

along with various research- based strategies to support your child’s academic growth at home.
