    Year 5 AssemblyOn Friday 5th July the assembly will be taken by Year 5who will be talking about their Longitudinal Studies. Allparents are welcome to attend at 8.45 am.

    Tree Top ClubPlease note that the Tree Top Club will be open onThursday 5th September.

    Speech DayWe look forward to welcoming parents to Speech Dayon Saturday 13th July when the guest speakers will beMr Mike Beale, Mr Tony Spratling and Mr JamesRapson. Speech Day is the formal event of the year at

    Tockington Manor. Upper School boys should wearblazer, grey shirt, trousers and tie, Years 7 and 8 girlsblazer, kilt, white blouse and tie, junior girls blazerand summer dress. Children in Years 3 and 4 shouldcome in at the normal time. We hope parents willdress appropriately for the occasion. Ladies arewelcome to wear hats if they wish. Leavers shouldwear their OT scarves and ties.

    Sports DaysThe Nursery are holding their Sports Day on Friday 5thJuly. Coffee will be served on the patio at 10.30 and thesports will start at 11.00 am.Lower School Sports are on the same day starting at 2.00pm with tea at 3.00 pm.House Athletics Finals for the Upper School will takeplace on Saturday 6th July starting at 9.30 am. Years 3and 4 should arrive at 8.45 am. Children in Years 3 and 4can travel on the bus as usual if required. There will be abreak for lunch from 12.00 to 12.40 pm and the day willfinish with tea at 3.30 pm.

    Youth SpeaksGood luck to Tom Edwards who is taking part in thefinals of the Rotary Club Youth Speaks competition onMonday 1st July.

    CharitiesEach academic year the school supports three charities. If

    any parents have a connection with a charity they feel theschool would like to support, please forward details to theoffice.

    End of Term EventsIf you have not already done so, please complete andreturn the orange form regarding numbers for SpeechDay, etc. These numbers are required for cateringpurposes.

    Activity Week in the Lower SchoolThe Lower School had a brilliant day at Bowood Adventure Playground. The weather was good and the park wasquiet. Well done to all the children as they were congratulated by the Estate Manager for being 'the best behaved

    group he had ever seen'. We probably beat the park record for 'Death Slide' attempts as well! Year 2 enjoyed theirGreat Fire of London workshop, Year 1 their Seaside workshop and Reception their Early Years Story Hunt.

    Totally Tockington PicnicLast Thursday the twenty-one members of Totally Tockington the newspaper FOR students BY students weretreated to a sumptuous picnic as a big thank you for all of their work through the year on the paper. Denise, Shane

    and Irene in the kitchens had worked very hard indeed to provide delicious food. Although the weather was notgood enough to be outside as we had planned, a great deal of fun was had dining on rugs and cushions on thefloor in the library. It was a great event which everyone enjoyed so much.A huge thank you to the kitchen staff for making this very special and to Mrs Edwards for the photography and Tshirts and everything else she does for the paper. And, of course, a massive thank you to this amazing team of

    journalists. You are wonderful!Miss Case

    Years 6-8 Leavers MatchesCalling all TMS leavers parents! We would like to invite you to take part in the annual Tockington parents vpupils Rounders and Cricket matches. The matches will take place on Sunday 7th July and will start at 10.00 am.This is your chance to dust off your old equipment and show your son or daughter how it should be done.Please email the office to confirm your place, alternatively contact myself, Mr Jones or Mrs Wakeling.We look forward to seeing in the field.
