The triathlons and Family Fun Day last Saturday were a roaring success, with records being set on the track, delicious cream teas, ‘Guess the Stig’, the King’s College Big Band and the Nursery choir. Well done to you all (talk has already started on how the event can be made even better next year!). Years 6 & 8 headed off to camp on Monday and we will, no doubt, see lots of photos next week. Meanwhile, Year 7 went to Normandy and visited the Bayeux Tapestry and the beaches at Arromanches. Back at school plenty has happened. The police came to visit Lower School on Monday with their dog, Ned. Reception visited ‘Wild About’ and Years 1 & 2 went to Clevedon. All this happened whilst Miss Sheppard was away inspecting another school (sshhh, don’t tell her!). The Lower School Swimming Gala brought much excitement on Thursday. Years 3-5 got involved in a variety of activities including a visit to the zoo, pond dipping, hikes, synchronised swimming, art and many more. They even held a World Cup competition on Monday which saw Costa Rica beat Belgium in the final – a result far more plausible than an England win! And today Nursery visited Noah’s Ark. What a week! An e-mail was sent out to parents yesterday regarding the Upper School Swimming Gala which, due to unforeseen events, will be moved to Wednesday 9th July from Thursday 10th. Headmaster’s Corner

Thank you so much to everyone within the school community for such an excellent week. The triathlons and Family Fun Day last Saturday were a roaring success, with records being set on the track, delicious cream teas, ‘Guess the Stig’, the King’s College Big Band and the Nursery choir.

Lower School Swimming Gala

The Lower School enjoyed a fantastic, fun afternoon in the pool during their annual gala. All put a huge amount of effort into their work and swimming. The Swordfish were leading until the final relays when the Dolphins, Sharks and Stingrays started to level the scores. The polo was highly exciting with Zachary and Amy hammering goals in from all over the pool. In the end, the Swordfish triumphed! A great afternoon was had by all! I must also mention Alan England, Hannah Warn, Ceri Russell and Jess Portch who gave their time up freely. I felt incredibly old, as I taught Jess and Alan swimming a few years ago and they returned to help. Thanks to all the parents and carers who came to support.
