ASSESSMENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2021 SEMESTER FOR OPEN DISTANCE LEARNING
(PART-TIME STUDIES - ODL) STUDENTS
Students are informed that the final examinations (including supplementary examinations) for
the OPEN DISTANCE LEARNING (PART-TIME STUDIES – ODL) in the September 2021
Semester scheduled to be held in November / December 2021 will be conducted via alternative
assessments including online quiz and assignments.
The full details and submission deadlines for the alternative assessments are as follows: -
i. For Online Quiz
• Students are required to take individual online quiz via the Learning Management System (LMS)
• The online quiz will be available from 6th December 2021, Monday (00:00) until 9th December
2021, Thursday (23:59)
ii. For Assignment
• The assignment will be available via the LMS on 15th November 2021, Monday (00:00)
• Completed assignments must be submitted via Online Assignment Submission (OAS). Refer to
the following attachments for the list of ODL courses, alternative assessment mode and the
submission deadlines:
o Appendix 1: List of Courses for Centre for Foundation Studies
o Appendix 2: List of Courses for School of Business and Administration
o Appendix 3: List of Courses for School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences
o Appendix 4: List of Courses for School of Science and Technology
• For Supplementary Examination courses, the completed assignments must be submitted via
email to your respective Course Leads according to the submission deadlines in the
attachments
iii. Refer to the attached guide (Appendix 5) on how to access the Online Quiz and Assignment in the
LMS
iv. There will be no extension of deadlines for the alternative assessments above
v. The percentages contributed by the alternative assessments are the same as the originally
scheduled proctored examinations

1. Log in to the FlexLearn LMS (https://flexlearn.wou.edu.my).
2. You can find the list of courses you have enrolled for the September 2021 Semester on the left
column under “My Courses”.
3. Click on a course.
4. Follow the instructions given below to attempt the Online Quiz/Assignment:
I) Online Quiz
a) Click “Quizzes” on the course navigation bar.

b) Scroll to “Online Quiz Final Sept 2021”.
c) Click on the name of the quiz to open it. You will be navigated to the “Summary” page.
d) On the “Summary” page you will find information about the quiz.
e) Under “Quiz Details” you will find the information on the user, the deadline and the
availability. Also, the time limit when taking the quiz, how many attempts are allowed and
how many you have attempted. Please take note of the time limit; failing to do so might
prevent you from submitting the quiz successfully. After the time limit has been
reached, you not be allowed to make further changes before submitting your quiz.
f) Under “Instructions” you will find a description that will help you take the quiz.
g) Click “Start Quiz!” to start the quiz.

h) After you have clicked “Start Quiz!” you will be navigated to the page with questions.
When you answer a question, the answer will be saved automatically. It is possible to
change your answer before you submit your quiz. After you have submitted all questions,
you have to click “Submit Quiz”.
i) A final window will appear. If you want to change any of your answers, you have to click
“Back to Questions”. If you feel confident about your answers, click “Submit Quiz” to
submit them.

j) After you have taken a quiz and have no remaining attempts, an “Attempt 1” summary
will appear that shows the details of the quiz. Under “Submission View” you will see that
your quiz has been submitted successfully. There is no further possibility to take the quiz
again.
k) Click “Done” to close the quiz.
II) Assignment
a) Click “Assignment (Exam replacement)” module under the “FlexLearn Course
Navigator”.
