In those years, I have arranged more than a few river cruises. Each and every client has come back raving about the experience. It was time I found out for myself why this is the fastest growing segment of the travel industry. Well now I know and I have to say that it has become one of my favorite trips of all time. My husband and I sailed from Nuremberg to Budapest on the legendary Danube River in September 2014 on the Viking Rinda, one of Viking Cruise Line’s 18 brand new longships. The four-decked ship carried 190 passengers up close and personally to the most sought after destinations in Europe in style and comfort. We were greeted at the airport and whisked to our ship, then escorted to our stateroom along with our luggage in no time. Every evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. was happy hour. At 6:30 p.m. the cruise director had an informative talk about the next day’s time for breakfast and when the shore excursion would be leaving ship and what we would be seeing. We also had the Viking Daily delivered to our stateroom every evening, which was filled with information and news about our next day’s activities. We visited the cities of Regensburg and Passau in Germany, Melk and Vienna, Austria, and overnighted in Budapest as well as Nuremberg. Viking River Cruises are mostly inclusive. We loved this. The daily shore excursion was included as well. The dining featured open seating and included beer, wine and soft drinks. After dinner, there was local entertainment in the lounge. In Budapest, we were treated to a gypsy band singing and dancing. Another night, a local trio of singers and dancers in Passau, Germany enchanted us with their lovely voices. In Melk, Austria, when the lead singer started singing “Edelweiss,” there was not a dry eye in the house. Our package included airfare and transfers, making a seamless vacation from beginning to end. Our trip had the ease of a cruise experience, unpacking only once, and the comfort of traveling in the same stateroom, yet it felt more like a tour, intimately visiting one amazing destination after another. Call me on 201-891-0070 for an appointment to discuss whether a river cruise should be in your future.

With more than 28 years as a travel consultant I have racked up

considerable cruise experience. In those years, I have arranged more than a few river cruises. Each and every client has come back raving about the experience. It was time I found out for myself why this is the fastest growing segment of the travel industry. Well now I know and I have to say that it has become one of my favorite trips of all time. Grace Bay Club, Perfecting Perfection By Julie Caldo, CTC, MCC

Once in a while a place comes along that exceeds all

expectations. It happened during our first stay at Grace Bay Club on

Turks & Caicos so we decided to return a second time. Upon arrival both times we were welcomed with a cool towel, choice of cocktail, personal check-in and introduction to our personal concierge. We were personally escorted to our

stunning villa suite and handed a cell phone to contact our concierge for anything we may need. With that personalized service and the most magnificent beach I have ever seen, my love affair with Grace Bay Club continued. Note, it doesn’t matter which category you book, everyone has their own personal concierge and cell phone and is treated as a VIP. Grace Bay’s creative team is masterful at designing handmade experiences and unique venues. Cocktails

at the Infiniti bar and a fire pit dinner at Infiniti was a perfect evening in paradise. Bierre Et Boules (Beer and Balls) has become a favorite pop-up beach restaurant, reinterpreting the classic meatball into creative savory dishes. Whether you are traveling as a single, couple, family or multi-generational family, Grace Bay Club has fabulous, spacious suites to suit you. Suites start at a generous 1,080 square feet and have stunning views of that breathtaking beach. Each has at least one private balcony or patio along with kitchenette and twice-daily maid service. There are full kitchens in the two bedroom and larger suites. A variety of Elemis products are offered in the bath. If you’re looking for enhanced exclusivity, luxury, amenities and privacy, The Estate offers a collection of 22 custom-designed, elegant residences; like a luxury home on Turks & Caicos. Amenities include poolside bar, poolside cabanas and lounges, a 25-meter lap pool, beach beds, a Jacuzzi, a kids’ splash pool and a welcome lounge, all exclusive to guests only at The Estate. The Collection, exclusive beachfront residences, have now joined The Grace Bay Club offerings. There’s a choice of 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms at

6,000 square feet or 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, with a fifth bedroom exclusive detached cottage estimated at 6,400 square feet. They feature a private deck surrounding an infinity pool and outdoor showers. Living areas boast 18’ ceilings, solid wood kitchens, appliances from Sub Zero and Wolf, along with the highest quality imported fixtures and furnishings. All offer personal concierge services, full daily breakfast, non-motorized water sports, daily housekeeping, pool/beach services and an unrivaled experience. Grace Bay offers younger guests Kids Town for all VIK’s and VIT’s (Very Important Kids or Teens). Separate programs are based on your children’s ages. Full- and half-day excursions, along with on-site arts and crafts, are among the programs offered. Our travel advisors have the full details.
