February 6 - Hot Air Balloon Ride (RecOn) Weather permitting, we’ll be soaring above the snowy landscape of the front range near Boulder, Colorado. The only thing stopping us is going to be winds. Our Balloon Captain said, “the colder it is, the better the flying in February!” Cost is $40 and includes transportation and flight.

February 7 - Winter Park Sled Dog Ride (Single Airmen) The trip covers about four or five miles in about 45 minutes. We’ll get to see some amazing views along the way, including 13 thousand foot peaks, the Continental Divide, Winter Park Ski Resort, and of course lots of snow and dog butts. Limit per sled is 350 pounds, generally two people in a sled. Cost is $55 per person. Departure and return times depend on number of signups.

February 13-15 - Valentine’s Day Get-Away at the Stanley Hotel Join us for a relaxing weekend away with your partner. We will leave Outdoor Recreation on Saturday morning for a room at the Historic Stanley Hotel. Saturday, spend the day exploring the shops and restaurants of Estes Park. Saturday afternoon, join us for a tour and tasting at the Snowy Peaks Winery. Grab yourself a bite to eat at any of the local eateries before our evening ghost tour of the Stanley. On Sunday afternoon we will head up to Rocky Mountain National Park for a leisurely scenic walk through waterfalls and lakes. Dinner is on your own in beautiful downtown Estes, or go by Safeway next to the hotel and bring back your own food to prep in your condo. Don’t forget your camera for this once in a lifetime weekend! $450 per couple includes 2 nights for 2 people in a condo at the Stanley, a romantic care basket as well as transportation and the events listed. You provide your own food.

February 13 - Snowshoe trip to Long’s Peak Boulder Field At 14,259 feet, Longs Peak towers above all other summits in Rocky Mountain National Park. The flat-topped monarch is seen from almost anywhere in the park. Different angles show the great mountain’s unique profiles. Changing weather reflects Longs Peak’s many moods. This is an opportunity to capture the mountain shrouded in snow from top to bottom. Join us for the

February 15 - New Belgium/Ft Collins/Boulder Brewery Tour on President’s Day Join us for a day of brewery tours and plenty of beer sampling at local breweries. We will depart Outdoor Recreation at noon, returning around 8 p.m. Bring money for food. $20 fee includes transportation, tour at New Belgium and an event T-shirt. Interesting beer facts; did you know the Denver beer triangle (Denver, Boulder, and Ft Collins) is known as the Napa Valley of micro brews? Colorado is home to nearly 230 established breweries - 10% of the nation’s microbreweries are located in Colorado, a state with 2% the population of the entire United States!

February 20 - Ski Steamboat Steamboat Ski Resort, located just outside of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, is a premier ski destination famous for its Champagne Powder. Depart Outdoor Recreation at 6 a.m. and return by 8 p.m. Cost is only $100, which includes lift ticket and rental equipment.

February 26-28 - Ouray Hot Springs and Ice Climbing Weekend Join us for a once in a lifetime experience in the town of Ouray, CO for a fun filled weekend of relaxing in hot springs, learning to ice climb, and dining out in this quaint mountain town. Due to the logistics involved with this program, the sign-up deadline is February 15.
