Board Dear Friends of Lifeline,

I Corinthians 13 is a pretty well-known passage to most of us. It tells us what love is and what it is not. Love is patient, kind, rejoices in truth, protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres and never fails. Love does not envy or boast. It is not self-seeking, or easily angered. Love is not proud, nor does it keep a record of wrongs. They tell us that faith, hope and love are what “remain” when all else fades away. But of the three “the greatest of these is love.”

Can any of us really love like this on our own? But we know that Christ in His love for us can love THROUGH us to those who need to see His love the most! And He has transformed us by His love so that we can reach out and give hope to those who feel unloved and unlovable.

Lifeline is committed to “changing two lives at a time” by letting moms-to-be learn that God loves them! There are many people who will pour into them by volunteering their time and resources. This is what love looks like!

Many of the young ladies coming to Lifeline are really “looking for love” and have tried to find it in “all the wrong places.”

Because of those of you who support Lifeline this ministry shows her and her child or children what real love looks like. Patient, kind, trusting and most of all hopeful! A hope for a future that will allow them to parent their children with the love that they have been filled with.

God has blessed this ministry through so many who believe that Lifeline is a program that not only provides a positive alternative to abortion but also saves a young woman and child from a life of poverty and depending on the government for support. She learns that she can be a good parent, earn a good living for herself, and be an active participant in the community with something to offer to others as well.

It is exciting to see the way so many ladies and children have beentransformed by the love of God through our many faithful supporters. We covet your prayers in the year ahead as we continue in thisimportant ministry.

Trusting in His mightly plan,

Cheryl HilldoreChairman of the BoardCheryl Hilldore

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Kathy with Anthony Thomas II

Dear Friends,

Our theme for 2018 was “Transformed by Love.” What does that really mean? Lifeline Family Center is intentionally a structured program. We have a daily schedule that the girls must follow. They have parenting classes, budgeting, sewing, cooking and art. These are all important, but do they truly transform? The girls have classes is math, language arts, science, reading and social studies. By doing this they willreceive the education they need to earn a GED and qualify for career training, but…are they transformed? All the girls receive Discipleship training through our Character Classes that reflect Biblical principles, and they have a standard of cleanliness and respect they must abide by in our homes…behavior modification, yes, but, I don’t know about transformation…. In Parenting Class the girls learn that children thrive on order and routine…they learn that young moms do too, but are they transformed by this?

I think we need to look to Jesus for the answer. He gave us the key to true transformation. The rules of the scribes and pharisees did not change the hearts of the Israelites. They may have dictated behavior, but it did not change hearts. We read how often the Israelites rebelled.

The love of Jesus is what transformed hearts, then and now. Jesus showed love and mercy not condemnation to the woman at the well and the one brought to Him who was caught in adultery. He healed on the Sabbath really making the religious leaders ticked off! Nothing stopped Him from His mission of saving us and transforming us by love!

All the programs at Lifeline Family Center were developed out of love for our moms and babies, but none of them have the power to transform their lives. What transforms lives is a housemom sitting on the edge of a young girl’s bed talking with her and comforting her night after night when she is plagued bynightmares. What transforms a life is a housedad willing to teach one of our girls how to drive IN HIS PERSONAL NEW CAR! What transforms lives is telling a girl that has truly messed up and should be asked to leave, that we love her and are willing to give her another chance.

Love transforms lives. Your love makes that possible at Lifeline Family Center.

Thank you for another year of sowing seeds of love, seeds of transformation in the lives of our young moms and their babies. God bless you for caring.

For Truth and life,

Kathy MillerFounder/President

Kathy with King Omir Jabreel
