FLYING HIGH ACADEMY

Working with Installer, B-in-Line on behalf of Main Contractor, Kier Education, EOS Facades provided the structural framing systems for the Flying High Academy - a secondary educational facility based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The Academy was commissioned as part of the publicly funded Priority for Schools Programme - worth a total investment of £44million.

A variety of light gauge steel solutions were provided by EOS including pre-assembled jambs, cills, lintels together with parapets with bespoke and standard base plates.

EOS Facades worked closely with the project delivery team to ensure high quality construction. Regular Toolbox Talks were provided to the B-in-Line team by EOS Facades and subsequently no remedial works have been required. Full onsite assistance and quality assurance was also provided throughout.

SANGER INSTITUTE

EOS Facades were appointed on behalf of Kier for phase one of this highly prestigious build. EOS provided their SFS Infill Panels for the new laboratory building – part of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute - which was then installed by SCL. EOS then managed to secure the next phase of the development – the Biodata Innovation Centre. As well as designing this part of the build in-house, EOS sections were used as canopy joists alongside standard infill studs. A unique detail was implemented to maintain structural stability and satisfied the cladding requirements. Together with the European Bioinformatics Institute and several biotechnology companies, the Sanger Institute will facilitate collaborations with world-class scientists and bioinformaticians and with the life science industry.

“EOS provide an excellent level of support throughout from design through to installation. Their personable approach is in line with our own company ethos and by forming strong working relationships, we are able to seamlessly deliver outstanding projects.”
