• Each year the state calculates the VPK Readiness Rates in accordance with statute and rule,
Section 1002.69 F.S. andRule 6A-1.099821 F.A.C.
• The VPK Readiness Rates represent the percentage of children that are included in a VPK providers readiness rates that score “Ready” for kindergarten on both ECHOS and FAIR.

• Early to Mid December- the Florida Office of Early Learning will mail each provider an official letter notifying them of their provider ID and the default password.
• Upon receipt of the letter each provider should login to the Readiness Rate Website to update all contact information as needed.

• The target date for the release of the Preliminary VPK Readiness rates is December 18, 2013
• The release of the preliminary rates marks the beginning of the verification and dispute process.
• The verification and dispute process will end on January 31, 2014.

• Verification and dispute period will end on January 31, 2013.• Coalition approval period follows
Coalitions must approve all attendance changes Coalitions must approve the removal or addition of any children
• Coalition review period is approximately 7 days.

• Release of the final 2012-13 VPK Readiness Rates- Target date is February 28, 2014
• Minimum Readiness rate is 70• Providers with a readiness rate below 70 are
considered to be on probation and must follow the requirements of a provider on probation according to rules 6M-8.700 and 6M-8.701 F.A.C.

• Each provider on probation will be mailed an official notification letter stating their probationary status and describing the steps required of probation.
• The letter will be mailed to the providers physical address. Failure to receive letter does not absolve provider of the responsibilities of probation.

• Must acknowledge the probationary status within 21 days of the release of the final VPK Readiness Rates.
• Acknowledgement is performed on the Readiness Rate site once provider is logged in.
• Acknowledgement is recorded on the website and may be printed out for the provider’s records

• Providers on probation must submit a provider improvement plan
• Improvement plan is submitted on the VPK Readiness Rate website
• Plan must be approved by the early Learning coalition

• Each provider will be notified by letter if a Good Cause Exemption if needed for that program. Failure to receive the letter does not absolve provider of responsibilities.
• Providers with three or more consecutive probationary VPK Readiness Rates must apply for and receive a Good Cause Exemption in order to be eligible to receive VPK funding.
• Good Cause Exemption Applications are due within 14 days of the Acknowledgment.
• The Office of Early Learning will provide technical assistance on the process.
