Discussions are the start point with

KRONE employees in close contact with

customers and distribution partners.

Together, with these contacts, they analy-

se markets, trends and machine specifica-

tions.

With the aid of the most up-to-date com-

puter technology, new machines are crea-

ted and thanks to innovative design pro-

grammes, machine operation can even be

simulated on the monitor and so this alrea-

dy helps optimise the machine during the

construction phase.

Then starts the construction process

where experienced technicians manufac-

ture the first prototypes by hand. In close

cooperation with the design engineers all

components are carefully assembled into

a new KRONE machine.

KRONE – enjoying more than 100 successful years

The name KRONE has been an icon in agricultural

technology for the past century now. Starting out as a

small blacksmithing company, Krone has developed into a

leading forage crop specialist. The right combination of

ingenuity, proximity to customers and competence is

responsible for the company’s long lasting success.

Numerous innovative unique selling point characteristics

are a powerful testimonial to this quality and customer-

orientated corporate philosophy.

No computer simulation can fully replace

practical working therefore Krone puts its

new machines through their paces all over

the world and under all conditions. Only in

this way is it assured that the arduous

testing has covered the complete spec-

trum of the machine’s field of operation.

Quality pays for itself. For this reason, we

check and document everything whenever

possible. Moreover, Krone even has its

products checked again by independent

inspection and testing agencies that arbi-

trarily put machines from current producti-

on under the magnifying glass.

Satisfied customers across the world will

testify that this effort is worth while.

Continuous dialogue and uninterrupted

quality control certainly pay off and it isn’t

for nothing that, in the meantime, the

name of Krone stands out across the

world for outstanding forage harvesting

technology – Made in Spelle.

Recognising early trends, maintaining

a close dialogue with customers and

always reacting in a trend-setting

manner in the market are all compe-

tencies that characterise KRONE.

Take for example the loading wagon:

in this case KRONE have been

renowned for robust wagons from the

very beginning and these have been

proven and tested even in the most

arduous of conditions. KRONE can

look back on a forty-year, successful

history in loading wagon constructi-

on. With a cutting and feed drum with

initially 19 knives, KRONE met the

requirements of practical farming

even back in 1975. This is what distin-

guishes the KRONE philosophy: liste-

ning very carefully to the market’s

demands, and integrating these

demands into machinery in a quick

and innovative manner.

With the new EasyFlow pick-up,

KRONE is the first manufacturer to offer a

cam-trackless pick-up for loading wagons.

Six cam-driven feeder rakes with double tines

arranged in a wave-shaped arrangement,

have a high throughput capacity, are smooth

running and above all, gentle on the forage.

This will get you going. The large

dimensioned cutting and feeder rotor offers

exceptional cutting quality and throughput

capacity.

An exact short cut with all the knives

on the one level giving a theoretical chop

length of 40 mm with all 35 knives.

With loading volumes of about 50 to 54 m3

for dry crops of medium compaction the

models Titan 6/50 GL, R/50 GL, 6/54 GL and

R/54 GL loading wagons fit the bill.

The Titan 6/44 GD and R/48 GD large

capacity discharge wagons come with up to

three discharge rotors to meet any require-

ments made in practice in an exemplary

manner.

When high road speeds with high loads are

required, axle units are needed with high load

capacity that can cope with any application

situation.

When much needs to be loaded, a robust,

high-quality design construction

is needed.

Page 6: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

6

Clean pick-up: with six rows of tines and a

tine distance of 55 mm, the EasyFlow

picks up the crop in an exceptionally clean

manner. Because the tines are lowered at

the right angle to the wave-shaped bands

no bits of crop are drawn into the pick-up.

Robust drive: the drive of the pick-up is

handled via a robust chain drive that is

equipped with a star ratchet gear as over-

load protection. This provides safety, even

in the case of sudden contact with foreign

obstacles.

KRONE knows what is needed in practice:

the pneumatic pendulum guide wheels are

height adjustable without the use of any

tools making for a quick adjustment to any

conditions. They follow all the humps and

hollows and have no scrubbing effect.

Cleaner pick-up

More output

Higher balance

Lower wear

Less maintenance

EasyFlow.The first cam-trackless pick-up in a loading wagon.

With the new EasyFlow pick-up, KRONE offers, for the

first time, a cam-trackless pick-up, that is completely

un-steered. The most amazing feature of this pick-up is

the wave-shaped design of the galvanized bands in

between the tines that creates a continuous

crop flow off the tines. EasyFlow can

operate at higher speeds, enabling

one to drive faster and giving an

increased throughput.

Page 7: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

Contaminated forage? No thank you!

Additional rear guide wheels are available

as optional equipment. These wheels do

not run in the tractor track and the prede-

termined working height will always be

maintained since undulating wheel marks

and soft ground can be travelled over

without problem.

Clean design: the pendulum suspended

pick-up has a working width of 1,800 mm

(in accordance with DIN 11200) and fol-

lows any ground contour. The roller crop

guide always ensures continuous product

flow.

Nothing is pushed down: the large-scale

loading and discharge wagons are equip-

ped with a standard equipment hydraulic

lifting drawbar. With a double-acting

hydraulic cylinder and a ground clearance

of up to 75 cm, any potential silage clamp

clearance problems are therefore avoided.

The advantages are obvious: the new

EasyFlow pick-up has noticeably less

moving parts due to its simple design

and convincing balance with the

resulting decreased wear and tear

reflected in lower maintenance and

service costs. Compared to traditio-

nal systems, EasyFlow operates at

about a 30% higher speed and the

“discharge effect” on the following

feeder system obtained improves the

intake capacity, increasing yet further

the wagon’s output.

The seemingly impossible has always been a challenge to the engineers at KRONE. As

the pioneering manufacturer, KRONE can boast that it now provides a self-steered pick-

up for Titan loading wagons as standard equipment.

Page 8: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

8

Strong, balanced, and smooth running:

the KRONE high-performance cutting and

feeder unit with six cam-driven feeder

rakes caps torque peaks and is gentle on

the forage.

The feeder rakes are arranged offset to

one another guarantee even flow of forage

and this means the highest throughputs at

yet the lowest demand on power.

For continuous flow: the double tines are

arranged on the feeder rake in a wave-

shaped fashion. Here, the cutting is done

successively, which saves energy.

Six feeder rakes – lowdemand on tractor power

Cam-driven –maximum balance

Tines arranged in a wave shape – continuousproduct flow

1.5” drive chain –robust for maximum power

High-Performance Cam Feed.Six feeder rakes – cam-driven.

The high-performance cam-driven feeders with six rakes

and double tines that are arranged in a wave shape

utilises little power, but continuously works and feeds the

crop gently into the loading area,

which is ideal for the daily

intake of fresh forage.

Depending on the type of

wagon and shape of terrain,

this cam-feed system can be driven

with tractors of around 90 PS.

Page 9: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

9

Cam-driven: the six feeder rakes are con-

trolled via the cam. The cam control is

astounding with its perfect balance and

durability.

Robust: the 1.5” thick chain drives the

high-performance feeder cams. This chain

can withstand even the highest of

demands.

Standard equipment: the automatic chain

lubricator for the high-performance feeder

drive and the cam-trackless EasyFlow

pick-up.

Strong, balanced, and quiet: the

KRONE high-performance cutting

and feeder unit with six cam-driven

feeder rakes and a row of knives with

up to 35 knives. The forage is conti-

nuously drawn over the row of knives,

slice by slice.

Page 10: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

10

The cutting and feeder rotor: simple design, few moving parts and low maintenance. With

a diameter of 880 mm, a width of 1470 mm, six tine rows and the 10 mm thick, spirally

arranged tines, the cutting and feeder rotor in a Titan rotor wagon maximises its extreme-

ly high load capacity.

Non-aggressive tines that are chamfered

towards the rear: they pull out of the crop

at an angle that is gentle on the forage and

does not crush the cut product against the

scrapers.

Maximum loadingthroughputs

Low in maintenance

Cutting and Feeder Rotor.Continuous flow.

The cutting and feeder rotor is the result of decades

of experience in loading wagon construction. Due to

the enormous intake capacity, the high degree of

consolidation and the simple design, KRONE’s cutting

and feeder rotor has been proven

as the specialist in silage. The

low power requirement stands

out where, depending on the

model and application conditions,

the Titan rotor wagons can be

used with tractors from as little

as approximately 125 PS.

Page 11: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

• • •

11

Getting more in: the position of the rotor,

the feeder channel design and the spiral

arrangement of the tines on the rotor all

help ensure the most efficient filling of the

load area.

Strong 1.5” links: the drive chain to the

cutting and feeder rotor of the Titan with-

stands even the highest of demands and

minimises the demand on power.

Comfortable: automatic chain lubrication

of the chain drives to the cutting and fee-

der rotor and the cam-less EasyFlow pick

up is, of course, standard equipment.

Even flow: the six rows of 10 mm

thick tines are arranged on the feeder

drum in a spiral formation and pull the

crop through the knives in succession

meaning that one of the knives is

always in use. This arrangement and

the profile of the tines and knives is

how Krone achieves such a low

demand on power and yet an efficient

quality of chop.

Page 12: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

12

The draw cut – energy saving: the Titan

knives cut over their entire length. This

maximises the balance of the feeder unit

and caps load peaks. The serrated edge

ensures a constant sharpness over a lon-

ger period of time.

Cutting as if using scissors: the distance

between the knives and the feeder tines of

the rotor is very small so that the crop can-

not escape the knives. The result: perfect

chop quality through and through!

Safety first: individual knife control via a

trip spring ensures good longevity of the

knives when picking up foreign objects. It

goes without saying that the knives swing

automatically back into their original posi-

tion after a foreign body has passed

through.

Razor-sharp construction: a maximum of 35 knives in one

bank and a theoretical chop length of 40 mm stand for the

perfect short cut but above all the great ease of use is

amazing. Knife assembly and disassembly without tools is

simple and quick and when the knives are released on the

KRONE loading wagon, all the individual knife protection

springs are simultaneously released. The central knife

control means more flexibility as the desired chop length

can be quickly set.

Page 13: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

13

Chopping with a knife spacing of 40 mm

or 80 mm: this is simple! Without having to

remove or replace knives a choice of 0, 17,

18, or 35 knives can be controlled via the

central knife control. in the case of poten-

tial forage blockages the knife bar can be

swung in and out hydraulically.

Simple, quick and without tools: Without

having to remove or replace knives a choi-

ce of 0, 17, 18, or 35 knives can be con-

trolled via the central knife control.

The cutting system for the high-perfor-

mance feeder rakes: 35 large and small

knives. All positioned in one row. They

ensure a high cutting frequency and a

continuous crop flow as well as a uniform

loading power without any power peaks.

The cutting system can be swung

well down for inserting knives or

removal without tools. Everything can

be easily overseen with plenty of

room for working on the chopping

system. Years of experience in loa-

ding wagon construction have shown

that the chop quality is best with only

one bank of knives. Compared to two

banks of knives arranged on top of

each other, where the forage can turn

end on, deviations from the predeter-

mined, theoretical chop length are

lower. The narrow distance between

the feeder tines and the knives produ-

ces a shear-like, exact cut and thus a

premium forage obtained. Any quan-

tity of over-sized lengths means redu-

ced silage quality.

Page 14: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

14

The robust frame is designed for hard

work: the frame side supports, made from

C-profile steel have a deep profile of

200 mm. This ensures the highest of rigi-

dity and longevity.

Clean design: the Titan 6/50 GL and 6/44

GD include a sliding canvas cover, all

others a sliding sheet. The crop cannot be

trapped or escape, but is reliably fed

backwards.

No matter how heavy the forage: the

hydraulic floor conveyor drive handles

large amounts of crop with the conveyor

feed rate being variably adjustable.

Design. robust, large capacity.

Who hasn’t experienced it: wet, heavy wilted product,

long hauling distances, full loads and working under enor-

mous time pressure? These are the hard conditions in

practice that make especially high demands on loading

wagons that must perform at their peak during the few

available field working days in a year.

For this reason, KRONE has equiped

the Titan models with particularly

robust frames and components.

KRONE knows that high longevity

will pay for itself over the years.

Page 15: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

15

Automatically tensioned: the floor convey-

or is fitted with a fully automatic chain ten-

sioning system that, not only reduces

maintenance and inspection times, but

also avoids the time-consuming readjust-

ment of the floor chains by hand.

The floor conveyor on the Titan 6/44 GD,

6/50 GL and 6/54 GL: two highly hardened

and tempered, short-linked chains with a

diameter of 10 mm, and robust U-profiled

conveyor bars ensure problem-free con-

veying.

The Titan R/48 GD, R/50 GL and R/54 GL

comes as standard with a split floor con-

veyor with four highly hardened and tem-

pered short-linked chains (10 mm diame-

ter) makes sure the crop is moved quickly

and evenly. Even the unloading operation

is handled swiftly and painlessly.

High-performance makes quality, rigi-

dity and hiccup-free operation a pre-

requisite. The KRONE Titan high volu-

me loading and discharge wagons

with 200 mm strong C-profile frames

are designed for that most arduous

work. The construction of the ‘up top’

components with straight side walls

and powerful hydraulic motors that

drive the tough floor conveyors stand

for quick and downtime-free harve-

sting. With this loading wagon, output

will be increased and yet will be wor-

king still well within its capabilities.

Page 16: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

16

Clearly arranged and functional: the clear-

ly laid out in-cab console of the electroma-

gnetic standard control. Functions, such

as actuating of the drawbar lift, drive to the

floor conveyor, pick-up up and down, the

knife bar and the tailgate control can be

comfortably pre-selected from it.

At one glance: the optional Comfort elec-

tromagnetic control with LCD display on

the GL models comprises of load counter

and additionally provides the driver with a

host of useful information. The speed of

the floor conveyor can be varied with the

potentiometer on the terminal. The

Comfort hydraulics are capable of load-

sensing.

Tidy: individual hydraulic functions are

controlled via electromagnetic valves.

They are clearly laid out at the front of the

wagon behind a pivoting protective cover

and can, in case of electronic failure, be

operated manually.

Titan 6/50 GL-6/54 GL – R/50GL- R/54GL loading wagons volume galore.

Titan loading wagons with their all steel construction are

available with load capacities of up to 54 m3 of dry crop in

medium compaction. The Titan 6/50 GL and 6/54 GL are

equipped with a cam-driven feed rotor whereas

the R/50 GL and R/54 GL are equipped with

a cutting and feeder rotor.

High-quality workmanship

and with first-class equipment

come as standard, and they

are so easy to use.

17

Safety included: the KRONE loading

wagons have an automatic floor conveyor

stop device. If the forage pushes against

the tailgate, the feed is stopped by means

of a pushbutton sensor thus preventing

any damage to the tailgate.

Robust through and through: The perfora-

ted mesh of the rear tailgate provides rigi-

dity and ensures transport free of loss. The

lighting system is integrated into the rear

door, thus preventing contact with the

crop during unloading.

Room for masses: in order to be able to

unload the wagon quickly at full feed out,

a large opening is required. Two hydraulic

cylinders lift the tailgate wide open and as

the door is opened it automatically

unlocks to be locked again on closing.

Clean work: the Titan large-scale loa-

ding wagons are true specialists.

Even at high load performance, these

wagons leave nothing behind with the

cam-trackless EasyFlow pick-up.

With a collecting width of 1.80 m (in

accordance with DIN 11200) they will

handle even wide swaths. The hot-dip

galvanised, plastic coated all steel

construction and tensioning cables,

guarantee the transport of valuable,

farm-produced forage loss-free from

the field to the silo. The GL models

are outstanding with their load volu-

mes and quick unloading times.

Page 18: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

18

Comfort: the electronic comfort control with LCD

display on the Titan 6/44 GD and R/48 GD

comes as standard equipment. With it, the loa-

ding and unloading process can be controlled,

diagnostics can be performed, and the areas

cleared can be recalled. One remains up to date

with the information shown on the display and

that includes alarm messages that are also

transmitted.

Simple, practical, and safe: the side

access hatch with fold-down step ladder

for comfortable access to the loading area

on GD models is located in the centre of

the wagon.

Direct: drive to the discharge rotors is

taken directly via an enclosed shaft from

the main gearbox at the wagon front to the

lower discharge rotor. The simple design

with fewer drive chains and PTO shafts

guarantees transmission of power and

ease of maintenance.

The GD in the KRONE model title stands for large-scale

discharge wagons. These high-performance discharge

wagons will easily meet any practical requirements.

Up to three discharge rotors ensure even forage

discharge and in the lowest unloading time.

An even spread of forage over

the drive-through silage clamp

provides the best conditions

for quality silage.

Page 19: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

19

Everything rotating: the robust roller

chains withstand even the toughest loads.

Spring-loaded chain tensioners reduce the

need for maintenance and increase the life

of the chains.

With automatic floor conveyor stop con-

trol: with a full wagon, the lower discharge

rotor is displaced toward the rear by the

forage and the feed to the floor conveyor

is stopped by means of a movement sen-

sor. The discharge rotors can then start an

error-free unloading process.

For even forage discharge: two, or optio-

nally three discharge rotors. The tines

arranged in a V shape ensure a continuous

flow and a quick unloading. The one-piece

vertical side walls prevent any bridging.

A quality silage requires optimum

forage distribution during the drive-

through silage operation. These large-

scale discharge wagons with enclo-

sed and galvanised discharge rotors

fully meet these challenges. An even

carpet of forage is unloaded across

the entire length of the silage clamp

layer after layer, which is ideal for the

subsequent rolling process as any air

pockets in the clamp will cause redu-

ced quality in the forage. Thanks to

the automatic floor conveyor stop

control, which is integrated into the

lower discharge rotor, the rotors are

guaranteed to start the unloading

process every time, while at the

clamp everything is under total con-

trol using the operator terminal.

Absolutely even: the Titan 6/44 GD and R/48 GD are astonishing in performance and offer

the best conditions for a perfect consolidation of the wilted crop.

20

Four-wheel braked portal tandem axle

with automatic reversing and 500/50-17

tyres: standard equipment for the Titan

6/44 GD, 6/50 GL and R/50 GL. This axle

is perfectly suitable for negotiating a drive-

through silo because of plenty of ground

clearance and a good climbing ability.

With trailing links: the trailing link tandem

axle unit with twin leaf parabolic spring

and balance is standard equipment on the

Titan R/48 GD, 6/54 GL and R/54 GL. The

rigid link between the chassis and the

axles ensure the best possible axle beha-

viour. The axle unit can be equipped with

tyres from 500/50-17 to 620/40 R 22.5.

Bogey unit with triple leaf parabolic

springs as a balanced rocker: the large

pendulum travel results in a uniform load

distribution on the front and rear axles in

cases of unevenness. Due to the low

lying centre of rotation for the spring

suspension, the wagon is easier to pull

onto a drive-through silage clamp. This

axle is available with 500/55-20 or

620/40 R 22.5 tyres.

Self-steering bogey axle

Tyres of up to 22.5”

Running gear:Safe on the Road.

When speed on the road with a high total weight is

demanded, axle units are required, which can withstand

these high loads in any application situation. For this

reason all large volume Titan loading and discharge

wagons have a tandem axle. Depending on permissible

total weight and special requirements in practice, one may

choose between a portal tandem axle, a training link

tandem axle unit, and a bogey axle. In this manner you

can be sure that the wagon is optimally equipped for

every application and can handle the work perfectly.

Page 21: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

• • •

21

Trailing: The rear axle of the bogey unit fol-

lows around any bend without scrubbing.

The special steering control of the axle

arms ensures weight-dependent centring

forces on the wheels and this means

straight-line stability even when driving at

high speeds.

When reversing: a hydraulic cylinder ser-

ves to lock off the track-following axle in

the centre position making the wagon

more easily manoeuvred. The locking

system also provides safety during unloa-

ding at the edge of a drive-over silage

clamp.

Selection of tyres: depending on the axle,

the wagons are available with tyres from

500/50-17 14 PR to 620/40 R22.5. The

22.5” wide tyres are gentle on the sward

leaving hardly any wheel marks.

High driving speeds and load capaci-

ties, working in hillside situations and

on land barely able to carry any load,

as well as maintaining and protecting

the valuable sward, play a major role

in the selection of a tandem axle unit.

The tandem axles by KRONE are spe-

cialists: The portal tandem unit is out-

standing in performance with the

inter-connected linkage between the

front and rear axles whereas the

bogey unit has excellent contour fol-

lowing. Bogey and trailing link tan-

dem axles have compressed air bra-

king systems and all axle units are

designed for speeds of 40 km/h. Safe road transport and excellent driving comfort: the axle units of the large-scale loa-

ding and discharge wagons are solid and robust and offer a multitude of tyre options.

Page 22: Titan R50 Wagon Leaflet

22

Optional Equipment

Automatic loading: when the front area

of the wagon is fully loaded, the floor con-

veyor automatically pushes the crop furt-

her towards the rear.

Third discharge rotor: the Titan 6/44 GD

and R/48 GD discharge wagons can addi-

tionally be equipped with a third dischar-

ge rotor. The third rotor ensures a more

even, uniform distribution of the forage.

Side discharge belt: The hydraulically

driven side discharge belt moves the fora-

ge evenly and uniformly into the feed pas-

sage on either side. The discharge directi-

on can be controlled via the control termi-

nal of the comfort control terminal. When

the discharge belt is not required it can be

easily and quickly pushed under the rear

of the wagon for storage.

Drawbar ball-coupling: drive in comfort

due to the jolt-free movement in the con-

nection between tractor and machine. The

ball-coupling is also extremely safe and

offers excellent wear resistance.

Drawbar suspension: is synonymous

with a smooth and comfortable driving

behaviour. Impacts on the tractor are

absorbed by the nitrogen accumulator via

the hydraulic cylinders of the lifting draw-

bar.

Additional guide wheels: running behind

the pick-up away from the tractor wheel

marks the improved height control will

quickly pay for itself, especially on soft,

easily rutted ground or where wheel marks

prevail as they help keep the harvested

crop clean.
