COMMUNITY SERVICE
REQUIREMENT
All students are required to do a minimum of 40 hours of community service during their four years in the Bellevue School District.
Some clubs and honors societies require more (75+) hours of service.
9th grade is a great year to get community service requirement done. Club Jubilee is a great way to be involved.
X2Vol – An electronic system for logging Community Service hours. Access X2Vol through Naviance.
Melinda will teach an X2Vol lesson in 9/10 World History classes.

Getting Ready For College
(It’s all about exploration)
Focus on classes! It’s important that students work hard now and learn as much as they can.
Get involved and explore extra-curricular activities.
If you are on a vacation, have the time, and happen to be by a college campus go ahead and check it out with your student. No need to actually plan college visits at this time, though.
Finances
In your student’s senior year, you will have the opportunity to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Your 2020 (10th) or 2021 (9th) federal tax return will be used for this free application.
Bellevue School District Free/Reduced Priced Meals program provides access for students to receive not only free/reduced meals at school but also fee waivers for college entrance exams and applications! Link: https://bsd405.org/services/nutrition-services/free-reduced/
