Tips to Online FundraisingShare your fundraising page at nightThis is when people are mostly likely on social media. Keep your specific call-to-action short and sweet!

Once you reach your goal, increase it to a new oneDonors are more likely to donate more to help you get there. If they see you have reached your goal, they may not donate as much

Contact your work and see if they have a match giving program Will they match what you raise? Or, can they match what you and their employees donate to your page?

Add something different that stands out E.g. If I reach $1000 by the end of the month, I will shave my hair off/run in a bear suit whilsttraining/shave my beard/wear an orange wig to work etc

Encourage end of financial year donations Invite your family, friends and businesses to make a tax-deductible donation before June 30

Publicly thank each of your donorsShow your gratitude through an email, phone call or text. Thanking publicly on your facebook page as you receive them can also inspire or remind others to donate. Be sure to include your link every time

Ask friends to share your fundraising pageThey can forward on your email to their own contacts or share your fundraising page link on their own social media platforms to help you

Try asking for a specific donation This may attract more donors and donors who may actually donate more than you’re asking for. E.g. Can you donate $24? (25c for each km I will trek) or $10 from 100 friends will help me raise another $1000 towards my goal

Encourage corporate sponsorsConnect with your local business community and see if they will make a donation. Publicly thank them through social media. We can provide them with a certificate of appreciation. Any businesses who donate over $500, Bears Of Hope will promote their support on our Kokoda Campaign page

Connect your page to the fitness apps Link your training to your fundraising page through the fitness apps and/or share your recent training update on facebook with a photo, and don’t forget the link to your fundraising page! Showing your commitment and dedication to the trek and the cause may inspire others to support you

Create a Facebook Page for your FundraiserThis is a place you can share your experience with your family and friends, share your fundraising activities, thank your sponsors, update your fitness and training progress and share information about our charity to your friends and family. We would love you to let us know so we can also follow your progress!

Consider adding photos or video to your social media posts This personalises the connection with your friends and family even more. Think of ways you can keep your family and friends up to date with your training and progress. Make sure you link to your fundraising page in every post.
