Tips to Make Your Nursery Kids Resilient – The Spirit of Fighting Back

Resilience holds the key to developing thick skinned and mature kids. If kids do not experience a

downfall, there’s never a chance for them to understand what winning looks like. Therefore, you

need to help your kids come out of any difficult situation easily.

Your kid may be attending any nursery in Dubai, but

there are some things that schools can’t teach and you

as a parent can show them the right way. As a mother or

father, you need to ensure that your child has the ‘fight

back’ spirit in life. Mentioned below are a few tips to

make your child resilient.

1. It’s okay to say no sometimes – You need to

stop saying yes to all your kid’s demands. Being

too generous will only spoil them further. Unless

you say no to something, your kid will never work

hard towards gaining it.

2. Give them their freedom – Treat them like adults and not as mere preschool kids. Teach

them different things and let them sleep or eat on their own. Give them some space and you

will be proud to see them being more responsible and resilient in life.

3. Teach them problem solving skills – As soon as they encounter a problem in life, don’t

take it as your own trouble and attempt to solve it. Instead let your kids take it up as a

challenge and come out of it. This will help your kids to develop problem solving skills as

well.

4. Focus on solving the problem rather than looking for the cause – There’s no use

delving into the past. Asking why a certain thing happened or did not happen doesn’t solve

the problem in any way. Your priority should be to see how you can solve the problem. So

instead of asking ‘Why,’ ask ‘How’ and solve the problem right away.

5. Let the kids find the answers – Though it’s okay to provide them with some of the answers,

you don’t have to solve all their problems. That’s because unless they face a problem and do

not try to find out a solution by themselves, they won’t develop the spirit of resilience.

6. Be a role model – Kids of this age easily pick up the habits of their elders. Hence, as

parents, it is your due responsibility to be a role model. You need to show positivity towards

life and be brave enough to solve your own problems, so that the kids develop such habits

too.

Thus, keep the above tips in mind to make your kids resilient in life. Your

kids need to understand that failures are a part and parcel of life but trying to succeed is in

our hands.
