Ways to cure hangover? The after effects of drinking alcohol is called hangover. It is usually experienced in the morning after a night of drinking. The common phrase heard from people is 'I won't drink again' after someone wakes up after a night of drinking. This is usually when the person is having extreme headache and body pain. Different people experience different symptoms like anxiety, irritability, lethargy, nausea, dizziness, bad breath etc. Drinking alcohol also causes dehydration. The only real cure of hangover is time, however, there are a few tips which you can consider like: 1. Water- Drinking lots of water can help you get rid of hangover. Alcohol dehydrates the body so you need to hydrate your body by drinking water at regular intervals. Water also helps in diluting impurities from your stomach. Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water during the day. Avoid drinking caffeine as it will only add to dehydration. 2. Lemon- Lemon helps in getting rid of the after effects of drinking like dizziness, nausea and muscle pain. Lemon controls the blood sugar level of the body and alters the pH level. Add two teaspoons of lemon and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water. Stir it well and drink slowly. Take this empty stomach and repeat two to three times a day. 3. Honey- Another cure of hangover is honey. It is rich in potassium hence it helps in counteracting the effect of drinking too much alcohol. Take three to four teaspoons of honey during the day until hangover symptoms are reduced. 4. Egg Toast- Eating a few slices of toast and egg is good for hangover. Toast have carbohydrates which are a good source of energy. Have two glasses of water before breakfast. 5. Tomato Juice- Tomato juice is another way of curing hangover. It is rich in minerals and vitamins that help overcome the after effects of drinking. Take a glass of fresh tomato juice. Add one tablespoon each of lemon and honey, along with cayenne pepper. Have it two times a day. 6. Banana- Drinking leads to a reduction in potassium in the body. Bananas are rich in potassium.
