Toolbox 2015 will be using 64-bit.

SWBrowser.mdb was replaced with swbrowser.sldedb

Uses SQLite instead of 32-bit MS Access

Both the old .mdb file and new .sldedbfile will exist.

An Upgrade of SolidWorks to SolidWorks 2015 pointed to an existing Toolbox will convert at the time of the Upgrade. Pro: You don’t have to do anything extra Con: It will update a shared toolbox every

time a client is upgraded. Utility to Upgrade the Toolbox to 64-

bit. Pro: Can be used on a shared toolbox Con: Extra Steps Required.

Instructions for Upgrading SOLIDWORKS files within EPDM are in the Installation Guide in the section “Upgrading SOLIDWORKS Files”.

This details How to install the File Upgrade

Utility. Using multiple computers to share

the workload. Configuring options such as:

Creating new versions vs. overwriting latest versions

Moving revision tags or incrementing them

And more!

Review the instructions carefully to determine which option choices best suit your site.

As previously stated, performing an upgrade of all the SOLIDWORKS files is optional, but recommended.

Cannot add Additional Serial Numbers until after the Upgrade

Enterprise PDM 2015 now requires the SolidNetWork License Manager.

The SNL can be installed from the EPDM Installation Manager
