Cleveland vs. memphisTipoff: 7:30 pm, Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010

Cleveland will compete against their fourth Western Conference opponent this season when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. In their most recent matchup against Memphis at Quicken Loans Arena, the Cavs shot 40-81 (.494) from the field, while holding the Grizzlies to just 35-92 (.380) shooting en route to a 105-89 victory on Feb. 2, 2010. Daniel Gibson led the way with 16 points and J.J. Hickson added 15 points and eight rebounds in the Cavs win. Cleveland has won six straight contests against Memphis at The Q where they are 12-2 against them and lead the all-time series 20-8.

The Cavs are one of the NBA’s best teams at taking care of the ball, as they are only turning the ball over 13.5 times per game. Mo Williams is leading the team in scoring (14.6), assists (4.4) and steals (1.6) this season. Last Saturday against San Antonio, Williams tallied 21 points, six assists and three steals. After tonight, the Cavs will play two more games at The Q before going on their third three-game road trip of the season.

Memphis has been getting a lot of points in the paint where they average 46.9 points per game, the second-highest mark in the NBA. The Grizzlies also lead the NBA in steals at 10.1 per game and have five players averaging at least one steal per game. Mike Conley, who is leading the team with 2.5 steals and 7.1 assists, is averaging 14.4 points per game for Memphis. The Cavs and Grizzlies will wrap up their regular season series at the FedEx Forum on Feb. 4th.
